Farming isn’t exactly straight-forward in Medieval Dynasty.

As such, we put together a helpful guide to ensure all your farming endeavors goes smoothly.

Follow these steps to start your farm in Medieval Dynasty.

1. Make The Right Tools

You can’t start farming in Medieval Dynasty until you have the right tools on hand.

In particular, you’ll need a hoe and bag to start your farming.

Later on, when it’s time to harvest, you’ll need a sickle or scythe to harvest grains.

You can make both a simple wooden hoe and a simple bag on your own with a few resources.

To make a wooden hoe, you’ll need to navigate into your handcrafting menu.

As long as you have a log and five sticks, you’ll be able to make the wooden hoe.

For the simple bag, you’ll just need three leather.

Once you have your tools, you’re ready to head out to the fields.

2. Finding Land

Before you start tilling the ground, you’ll need to a choose an area for your farm to go.

Unless you want to move your fields all over the place, it’s worth taking some thought about where you want your farm to be.

You might find that you need more space in the future, but your current location doesn’t afford you that space.

As such, take some time to figure out a good plot of land.

Then, when you’re reading, you’re going to want to get into your crafting menu again.

This time, you’ll want to click on Buildings, then Farming, and you’ll find a Field option.

You can either make a single row for your current field or spread it out and make it wider.

As you progress through the Chapters in the game, the size of the field also increases.

Once you have the field ready, you can click it for the field to appear.

3. Tilling

After putting down your field, you’ll notice that a few stakes have appeared.

This is when you break out your hoe and start tilling the ground.

Each square needs tilling.

You’ll know you’re doing it right if the stakes disappear.

Go down the line and till all your squares to have your field ready for fertilizing.

4. Fertilizing

Before you can plant your seeds, you’re going to need to break out some fertilizer to nourish the soil first.

This is when you use your simple bag.

Pull out the bag, then select the field option after right-clicking to get to the bag’s menu.

You’ll notice an option for fertilizer.

As long as you have fertilizer in your inventory, you’ll be able to put it spread along the field.

You need one unit of fertilizer for each square you tilled.

If you don’t have fertilizer available, then you can make some.

To make fertilizer, you’ll either need manure or rot.

Manure you can get from animals, in particular, your pigs.

Rot you receive when food decays and spoils.

You can also buy manure if you don’t have any animals yet.

To make the fertilizer, you’ll need to access the crafting table in the barn.

Once you have it, just spread it along your field.

You’ll then need to use your hoe to mix it all together.

5. Sowing

At long last, you’re ready to sow your fields.

To do so, you’ll need to take out your bag again.

Like with the fertilizer, you’re going to need to select the seed that you want to plant in the bag’s menu.

Keep in mind that seeds have a particular season for planting.

You can’t plant carrots in autumn, for example.

You can tell which seeds prefer which season by looking at the bag’s menu or by looking at the seed’s description in your inventory.

To sow the field, you simply click on each square and your character will spread the seeds for you.

At this point, you don’t have to worry about watering or anything.

You can just watch your fields grow.

How Do You Plant An Orchard in Medieval Dynasty?

If you found some fruit seeds or want to grow hops, then you’ll find the steps to make an orchard in Medieval Dynasty a bit different.

To plant an orchard in Medieval Dynasty, you’ll follow some of the same steps as when you planted a field.

You’ll simply choose an area where you want your orchard, then set down the grid.

From there, you need to pull out the hoe and till the square or squares.

Instead of fertilizing, however, you can skip that step and just put the seed right into the plot with the bag.

Instead of choosing the field option in the bag’s menu, you’ll want to choose the orchard option.

The downside of planting an orchard is that it can take a bit of time before your trees mature and start producing fruit.

That said, once they start producing fruit, they’ll continue to do so every summer.

You don’t have to worry about making them go away and needing to buy more seeds to replace them.

That makes planting an orchard extremely easy.

Conclusion

Getting started with your farm can be a bit difficult at first in Medieval Dynasty.

By having the right tools and doing a bit of planning, you can ensure your farm comes out looking great.
