Once you unlock the herbalist hut in Medieval Dynasty, you have an assortment of different potions and items that you can make.

It can be a bit overwhelming to determine which potion or potions you should focus on making.

To help make things a bit easier, we came up with three potions that we believe are the best to make with the first tier of the herbalist hut.

We based our decision on the ease of resource gathering, the value of the potion, and the utility benefit.

With that said, here are three potions that you should consider focusing on making in Medieval Dynasty.

1. Potion of Instant Healing

The Potion of Instant Healing automatically heals you for 20 health points when you drink it.

We decided to choose the Potion of Instant Healing over the Potion of Healing because we often find ourselves in need of immediate healing rather than gradual healing.

If you prefer gradual healing, then you should brew the Potion of Healing instead of the Potion of Instant Healing.

The Potion of Instant Healing only needs 4 herbs in total, along with the standard wooden vial and bucket of water.

You’ll need two dandelions and two broadleaf plantains.

Those are both herbs that are available for several seasons as well, so it’s easy to stock up on a lot of them.

The Potion of Instant Healing also sells for 40 coin, give or take your trader skill bonus.

As such, you can get a good amount of utility use out of a Potion of Instant Healing while making a good bit of money by selling the potions that you don’t need.

2. Poison

If you’re someone who does a lot of hunting or fighting with bandits, then you might find the poison vial to be worth unlocking and making.

You can use poison to make poison bolts and arrows.

They add a bit more damage to enemies that you hit with your poisoned ammo.

Making poison is easy, too.

Besides a wooden vial and bucket of water, you only need 5 herbs of deadly nightshade.

The downside is that nightshade only blooms during the summer season.

As such, you’ll need to send your worker looking for nightshade, alone, if you want to stock up on it.

That said, poison also sells quite well at 40 coin.

Because of its ease in resource gathering, decent price, and great utility, you should likely brew some poison vials if you plan on hunting or fighting a lot.

3. Potion of Weight

The final potion you should consider brewing at the herbalist hut is the Potion of Weight.

The benefit of the Potion of Weight is that it adds 20 kg to your carrying capacity.

If you don’t have a mount yet to help carry your load, then this potion can be a great help.

It’s also relatively easy to brew.

If you’re farming, then you’ll want to be sure you plant a field of poppy.

That’s because this potion requires 5 poppy seeds along with a wooden vial and bucket of water.

In addition, you’ll need your herbalist to collect 5 henbane herbs.

If you’re taking care of the poppy and your herbalist is taking care of the henbane, then this potion really isn’t hard to make.

It also sells for a decent amount of coin at 60.

The reason we selected the Potion of Weight instead of the other utility potions is that the other utility potions don’t really have much use at certain points in the game.

The Potion of Temperature, for example, might be helpful for your first winter, but once you have some gloves or boots on, you really don’t need it anymore.

The Potion of Strength might be ideal for those who want to hunt or fight, but that’s really it.

The Potion of Saturation might be helpful if you keep forgetting to feed your character or give them a drink, but otherwise, you just need to eat some food to keep your character fed.

As such, it’s really only the Potion of Weight that you’ll find a consistent use of throughout the game.

You could always carry a bit more.

Conclusion

Crafting potions in Medieval Dynasty can be a lot of fun since it relies on realistic herbalism more than just magic.

However, if you don’t want to be a herbalist solely, then it helps to know which potions you should focus on to get the most out of the hut.

Brew the three potions above to start off and see if it fits your particular playthrough.
