Who Is The Herald?

The Herald is a unique NPC in Medieval Dynasty.

He has a chance to show up each season and provides a unique challenge for the player to complete.

You can recognize him by the two-tone tunic that he wears.

When he appears, you’ll see a horn show up on the map.

The Herald will appear in any village that has a tavern.

That also means he has a chance of showing up in your tavern if your town has one.

For my own playthroughs, he always seems to prefer Hornica.

What Does The Herald Want?

After speaking to the Herald, you’ll have the option of taking on a request from the King.

These challenges differ.

You might receive one that requires you to pay a certain amount of coin to the Herald.

In other cases, he might need resources like a certain number of logs and planks.

The exact challenge changes each time he shows up, but it is possible to have repeat quests, too, once you’ve gone through all the challenges.

Depending on your current stage of development in the game, some challenges may be more complex than others.

After you’ve established yourself, you’ll likely find completing the Herald’s challenges a lot easier.

How Do You Turn In The Herald’s Challenge?

There are a few ways you can turn in your challenge once you’ve completed it.

For example, if you need to bring resources to the Herald, you probably don’t want to carry 50+ logs all the way to him.

Instead, you can place those resources, or coin, in your Resource Storage barn.

Then just run and tell the Herald that it’s ready for him.

You can also have your wife go to the Herald and inform him that the items he wants is ready for pick-up.

Those items will disappear from your Resource Storage.

If you don’t mind the travel, or if you’re super lucky and he’s at your tavern, you can also just bring the items or coin straight to him.

He’ll take it from your inventory, and the challenge will complete itself.

Why You Should Complete The Herald’s Challenges in Medieval Dynasty

You’re a busy castellan in Medieval Dynasty, so you might wonder why you should take the time to visit the Herald.

The rewards you receive from the challenges can be pretty great.

You might receive a good amount of coin, a good dose of Dynasty reputation, and even favor with the King.

Dynasty reputation is important since it helps you become more important.

The more important you are, the more villagers will want to join your village.

Gaining favor with the king is also important.

It helps reduce your taxes which means you can save some money and put it toward other investments.

It can also help make the endgame more interesting.

When you’ve done all the quests and unlocked everything, the challenges can provide a bit of fun.
