Follow The ‘Friend in Need’ Quest

By following the main quest line, you’ll eventually come to the ‘Friend in Need’ quest.

After being attacked by wolves, you’ll wake up in a campsite where your rescuer, Just Jack, is sitting.

He’ll give you the rawhide recipe, and then you’ll be sent on a mission to take down the wolves that attacked you.

With the rawhide recipe, you can make some rawhide and then craft the bow.

With your bow and some arrows, you can take down the wolves that attacked you earlier in the quest.

Once you’ve killed the wolves, you need to take their meat back to Jack.

Jack, in return, will give you a horseshoe.

The horseshoe is what lets you take the horse that’s standing next to Jack’s camp.

All you need to do is get close to the horse, then mount it.

You’re then able to ride it around as your own.
