The building system in Sons of the Forest continues to grow thanks to a new addition that enables building with stone.

You’ll be able to create more varied bases and perhaps even better defenses to ward off cannibals and demons.

In this survival guide, we’ll cover stone building in Sons of the Forest.

How To Get Stone in Sons of the Forest

To start building with stone in Sons of the Forest, you’re going to need to acquire the right stones.

They’re different from the small stones you use to make stone arrows and the larger rocks that you can use as a weapon or to line your campfire.

It’s a brand new resource that has a square symbol on it.

They’re quite large, and you can only carry three of them at a time.

You’ll find them scattered throughout the forest on the floor.

In my own experience, I tended to find them easiest along larger rivers.

To collect your stones more quickly, I suggest building the advanced log sled to store and transport them.

The sled can hold up to 27 stones, so it beats carrying them three-by-three on your own.

Kelvin can also help you pick up stones and fill your sled.

What Can You Build with Stone in Sons of the Forest?

Now that you have your stones, you might be wondering what you can do with them.

While there will likely be more stone-focused updates in the future, currently, you can build a stone fireplace and structures.

The stone fireplaces requires 42 stones.

You can place your cooking pot in the fireplace and keep warm around it.

As for structures, you’re basically able to build the same things with wood as you are with stone.

You can build stone supports, walls, beams, and columns.

Since you’re able to put each stone in piece by piece, you have complete freedom to design unique buildings.

For example, you could build a defensive stone wall with some murder holes.

The only limitation is your imagination.

Conclusion

Stone building in Sons of the Forest provides new ways to build some fun structures.

You can start collecting stone, or have Kelvin do it for you, and start building your very own castle.
