The nights can become pretty dark in Sons of the Forest.

The good news is that there’s a new solar-powered lighting system you can use to light up your base.

In this survival guide, we’ll go over how to use solar power to light up your home.

How To Set Up Solar Power

Setting up solar power in Sons of the Forest isn’t too difficult once you understand how it works.

To create solar power, you’re going to need a few resources.

Those resources include:

  • 1 Solar Panel
  • Wires
  • 1 Lightbulb

You only need one solar panel to light up a single lightbulb.

More advanced lighting will likely require a few more solar panels.

To get your solar power going, you’re going to need a ramp.

Putting a ramp on your roof or some other location is ideal.

Then put the solar panel in your hands, and look at the ramp.

You’ll see a white outline of where you can put the panel.

Set it down, then grab wire from your inventory.

Depending on how far you want the lightbulb from the panel, you may need several wires.

First, you’ll need to connect the wire to the panel.

You’ll see dashed lines showing you where you can put the wire.

Then just keep adding wires in a circuit to the area where you want to hang the lightbulb.

Once you’re satisfied, take out the lightbulb from your inventory and hold it.

Place it on the wire in the location where you want it.

If everything was hooked up properly, then you should be able to switch on the lightbulb and have some light.

Where To Get Solar Power Resources

You can’t have solar power without the proper resources.

Most of the resources you can find in storage crates.

Even solar panels are in the crates.

I usually find a good number of panels and lightbulbs in the 3D printer bunker.

However, almost every storage crate has a chance of having panels, lightbulbs, and wires.

Conclusion

You can make it far easier to see in the dark by using solar-powered lighting.

Start checking through crates to find the resources you need.
