Insulation in Medieval Dynasty can provide a few benefits to your village.
Since you can insulate every building, you might wonder if one is more beneficial than the other.
In this survival guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about insulation in Medieval Dynasty.
Why Should You Insulate Buildings?
You might be wondering why you should take the time to insulate your buildings.
Insulation provides two main benefits for housing.
It increases your villager mood, so they produce more for you in a given time.
It also reduces how much firewood they use.
Some people might also appreciate the aesthetics of the insulation.
With more production and less firewood, you can start to have your villagers produce more of certain resources.
What Buildings Receive Bonuses When Insulated?
Improving villager mood and reducing firewood usage is only for homes that you insulate.
If you want to insulate a production building or animal shelter, then you won’t receive any mechanical benefits.
At most, it might increase the building’s durability which results in fewer repairs over time.
However, even if you insulate a production building or animal shelter, it won’t make them produce more resources or goods for you.
As such, while you can insulate those buildings, it’s up to you whether what you get out of it is worth the time and effort of insulating them.
How To Insulate Buildings in Medieval Dynasty
To insulate buildings in Medieval Dynasty, you’re going to need to unlock a certain skill.
In the Production Skill Tree, you should see the Handyman Skill.

Unlock that, and you’ll be able to insulate your buildings.
Next, you’ll need insulation materials.
For wattle and log buildings, you’ll need to use daub to insulate them.
For stone buildings, you’ll need limestone.
Daub is something you need to make in your barn.

To create daub, you’ll need 10 clay and 10 straw.
You’ll receive 10 daub in return.
Since most walls need anywhere from eight to four units of daub, you’re going to need to make quite a bit.
To get limestone, you have two main methods.
The first is to get it yourself by mining stone deposits on the ground or near rocky cliffs.
You can also have workers in your Excavation Shed mine it for you.
Like daub, you’re looking at needing anywhere from eight to four limestone for certain wall typs.
To insulate, you’ll need to use your builder’s hammer.
Right-click to bring up the building menu and hover over the “Insulation” section.
You’ll see the walls that you haven’t insulated yet become blue.
Just hammer the insulation into the wall until it has all its resources.
Conclusion
Insulation can help make your village a more productive place.
However, it doesn’t impact your production buildings, and you need a certain skill to be able to insulate.
