Whether you’re hunting or looking to defend yourself, at some point, you’re going to need to get your hands on a weapon.

Medieval Dynasty is a little sparse with its weapons, but there are certainly some that are better than others.

In this survival guide, we’ll cover the different weapons in the game and which is the best for ranged and melee weapons.

Ranged Weapons

There are a number of different ranged weapons in Medieval Dynasty.

They’re split between bows and crossbows.

In regards to bows, there are three main types.

Those include the bow, recurve bow, and longbow.

Here’s the damage output for each:

  • Bow: 35 Damage
  • Recurve Bow: 45 Damage
  • Longbow: 55 Damage

There are also crossbows with a wooden crossbow being the weakest and the iron crossbow being the strongest.

Here’s how their damage output looks.

  • Wooden Crossbow: 40 Damage
  • Iron Crossbow: 70 Damage

Clearly, the crossbows do more damage than the standard bows.

That said, they are slower than bows.

Even the recurve bow is a bit faster than the longbow.

If you’re more interested in DPS, then you might want to consider using the recurve bow.

If all you want is total damage, then look at picking up the iron crossbow.

Ranged weapons are even more deadly because they also add arrow damage on top of the weapon’s existing damage output.

Stone arrows, for example, add 25 damage on top of the bows.

Iron arrows will add 55 damage on top of the bows.

The same goes for bolts and crossbows.

You can do a significant amount of damage with bows and crossbows.

Melee Weapons

Medieval Dynasty only has a handful of melee weapons, but there’s talk of bringing more to the game in future updates.

As it stands, the main two categories of melee weapons are spears and cudgels.

Spears could also technically work as a ranged weapon.

Here’s what the damage output for spears looks like.

  • Wooden Spear: 15 Damage
  • Copper Spear: 40 Damage
  • Bronze Spear: 50 Damage
  • Iron Spear: 60 Damage

Clearly, the iron spear is the better choice.

When it comes to cudgels, there are only two.

There’s the cudgel which does 20 Damage and the iron spiked cudgel which does 50 Damage.

Clearly, the cudgels aren’t quite as deadly as spears, but they are a bit easier to use.

Best Weapon in Medieval Dynasty Overall

Clearly, the best weapon to go with for damage output is an iron crossbow with iron bolts.

You’re going to do a ton of damage while staying safely away from anyone trying to do damage to you.

If you prefer melee, then you’re going to want to use an iron spear, then just become used to using it in melee combat.

If you prefer DPS, then you might want to consider a recurve bow instead.

Conclusion

Choosing the right weapon can make killing bandits and hunting animals a lot easier.

Both ranged and melee weapons have certain weapons that do the best.
