Keeping hordes of cannibals and mutants from your base of operations is essential for survival in Sons of the Forest.

An electric fence can help damage and slow those enemies down, giving you the chance to press the attack.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to build an electric fence in Sons of the Forest.

In order to power your fence, you’re going to need solar power.

First, you’ll need to find a solar panel.

You can find these in a few crates around the island, but they’re not common spawns.

I typically find them in the 3D printer room represented by a green circle near the center of the island.

Once you have the solar panel, you’re going to need to build a ramp.

It takes three logs and a few half-planks to build.

Equip the solar panel and attach it to the ramp.

To make a fence, you’re going to use sticks.

Simply equip them from your inventory and drive them into the ground.

You should see a dotted line with a circle extending from one implanted stick.

This enables you to put them in a sort of pseudo-blueprint that enables you to make the fence.

Once you have all the vertical parts of the fence done, you can start to fill up the interior of the fence with horizontal sticks.

You should see a white outline of where you can put the stick.

With your fence made, it’s time to electrify it.

It’s time to connect your fence to your solar panel.

You’re going to need a few wires to complete this task.

Wires are a common spawn, so you shouldn’t have any problems finding them in crates.

Equip wire in your hands, then approach your fence.

You should see a white outline on each section of the fence where you can put your wire.

Each segment requires a separate wire, so make sure you have enough.

Once the fence has wire on it, you need to attach a wire to the solar panel.

On one of the vertical sticks, you should see a white outline of a circle.

This indicates that you can attach the wire there, then drag it to the ramp.

Do so and connect the wire on the circle that appears on the ramp.

Finally, put a wire on the ramp, itself.

Your fence should be electric and ready for use.

An electric fence can be a useful way to take care of some crowd control.
