To preserve food, you’re going to need to build a pantry.

You’ll find the blueprint for building the pantry in the Farming Tree on the Technology Page.

If you’ve already unlocked the crop dryer, then you’ll have also unlocked the pantry.

If you haven’t, then you’ll find the pantry at the top of the branch in the middle.

It requires three technology points to unlock the node.

If you don’t have enough tech points, then quickly craft some tools to earn them.

With the blueprint unlocked, you can now build your pantry.

You’ll find it by equipping the hammer and pressing the “B” key to bring up the build menu.

Click on “City” then go to the “Ranch” option.

You’ll find the pantry as one of the options.

Click it and place it where you want your pantry.

It takes 10 logs and 12 planks to build it.

Hammer those resources in, and you’ll have your first pantry.

Now that you have your pantry, it’s time to fill it with food.

Interact with the pantry, and a menu will pop up.

You can click each slot and put a food into it.

Food that’s stacked in your inventory can also stack in the pantry.

At the time of writing, the pantry isn’t fully functional, but once it is, all your food within the pantry will take slower to spoil.

Your food will last a lot longer moving forward.

Preserving food is a good way to ensure you don’t have to keep hunting or buying it.
