In order to grow your Dynasty Legend in Sengoku Dynasty, you need to help villagers with problems.

One of those problems comes from an Impure who has an old man in his care.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to complete this quest and what to do should you decide to save or kill the old man in Sengoku Dynasty.

Head to the Burned Village to Find the Impure Man

You’ll find the old man in the Impure’s hut outside of the burned village.

You’ll find the Impure either inside his house or walking around outside.

Tell him you’re there to help him, and he’ll tell you about Hikobei.

You discover that Hikobei lost it all after the village was set on fire.

His family moved to another city, but he couldn’t bring himself to join them.

Instead of living on their charity, he decided to eat some mushrooms and is now slowly dying.

You can either help his passing go peacefully or save his life.

Either way, you’re going to need a herbalist.

Find Mata and Bring Her Certain Herbs

Your next journey brings you to Mata.

She’s an herbalist who is usually roaming around the burned village.

Ask her you need help, and she’ll know who you’re talking about.

She’ll then ask you if you want to make a tonic that will make his suffering easier so he can die in peace, or a tonic that will make him hurt a lot but ultimately save his life.

This is a personal choice, so you can choose whatever you feel is right.

Either way, you’re going to need to collect some herbs for Mata.

If you chose to save his life, then you’re going to need to collect gobo plants.

You can find them scattered throughout the burned village as well as in the forest surrounding it.

Look for tall bushes with purple flowers.

If you chose to kill him, then you’re going to need Yellow Chrysanthemums.

They’re a flower that sit close to the ground and have bright yellow petals.

Once you have your herbs, return to Mata.

She’ll craft you a potion which you can then take to Hikobei.

Return to Hikobei and Finish His Story

It’s time to return to the Impure’s hut.

Go to Hikobei on the mat and give him the potion.

If you chose to save him, then he’ll be mad at you, but the potion will work.

If you chose to ease his passing, he’ll be relieved from pain and pass slowly.

Either way, the problem is now solved.

You can speak with the Impure to receive your Dynasty Legend boost as well as to unlock the blueprints for the oil lamp, fishing nets, and temporary tawara container.

Conclusion

Depending on what you feel is right, you’re going to need to find certain herbs to proceed with the quest.

The Impure will reward you no matter which way you decide.
