The apiary allows you to collect honey from bees which you can sell or turn into mead.

However, you may notice that your bees produce significantly less honey during certain periods of time.

In this survival guide, we’ll cover the apiary and why you might notice your bees are producing less honey.

To build the apiary, you’re first going to need to unlock it.

It requires 5,000 Farming Tech Points.

So, you’ll need to do a good deal of farming before the apiary unlocks.

Once you’ve unlocked it, you can build it.

It takes 6 stones, 6 logs, and 16 straw to build the apiary.

Hammer those resources into the apiary until it’s completed.

The bees won’t produce honey unless you tell them to.

First, find the apiary in your Management Tab.

Then double click on it to bring up the production menu on the right.

First, you’ll need to assign a worker to the building.

You’ll want a farmer for this particular production building.

Then increase the intensity to how much honey you want them to gather each day.

From there, the worker will start collecting honey.

Now, even if you have worker at 100% intensity, you’re not always going to see that number produced.

That’s because the season influences how much honey your bees produce in Medieval Dynasty.

In spring and summer, they produce 100% of the amount you assigned.

In fall, that drops to 50%.

In winter, that drops further to 25%.

So, if you have them producing 100 honey each day, in the fall, you’d only get 50 honey, and in winter, you’d only get 25 honey each day.

If you’re seeing less honey, then double-check the season you’re in to see if it’s influencing your yields.

Honey can be a useful ingredient for your tavern.

Yet, depending on what season you’re in, you might find that your bees are producing less of it.
