You’re going to find that your dwarf becomes hungry pretty quickly while in the deep mines of Moria.

Luckily, there are quite a few ways to ensure they don’t go hungry.

In this survival guide, we’ll go over how to stay full in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.

To see the different methods, check out the video below!

Even though you’re in the mines, there seems to be plenty of vegetables and fruits growing everywhere.

Staying full isn’t too hard when you’re on the go.

You’ll find mushrooms, sunions, and Elvish apples just waiting for you to forage.

Take a little walk around and keep an eye out for food growing.

When eaten raw, foraged items work great as a snack while you’re out exploring.

You shouldn’t rely on them for a full meal, however.

There’s a surprising amount of life down in the mines.

You can find rats and even a species of deer down in the caves.

This means that you have plenty of prey to hunt and take down for meat.

Enemies like wolves and bears are also killable and drop meat along with other useful resources.

Much like the plants, you shouldn’t eat these raw.

It’s a much better idea to save both for the third method of staying full in Return to Moria.

Cooking food is a great way to get the max effect of your food ingredients.

Each time you pick up a new ingredient, you’re going to unlock a food recipe.

Typically, you need three of that item to cook it.

You’ll also need to cook it on a stone hearth.

When you build a stone hearth, you can access it and enter the cooking menu.

You’ll see a list of the recipes that you know and can make on the left.

At the center is where you click what food item you want to cook and add it to the queue.

It takes a few seconds, but the food will cook and show up on the meal table.

Which means you need a meal table if you want to cook food.

Even if you have a stone hearth, the meal table is something separate that you need to make.

You’ll find it in the Building Menu.

When your food has finished cooking, it will show up on the meal table for you to enjoy.

Keep in mind that food does spoil in the game, so you only want to make as much as you’re going to eat in a short amount of time.

Using these tips, you can keep yourself full and avoid dying of starvation in Return to Moria.
