One of the early resources you’ll need in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is hide.
Hide allows you to craft new armor and gear, making you stronger in the dangerous mines.
In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to find hide in Return to Moria.

How To Get Hide in Return to Moria
There are a few creatures in Return to Moria that drop hide.
The first, and easiest, comes from white deer that you find in the Elven Quarter.

While these deer also sometimes spawn in the starting area, they’re primarily found among the elven ruins.
These particular animals are fast, so you’re going to need a hunting bow and some arrows to make it easy on yourself.
The other option is cave bears.
These are fierce beasts that hit hard.
They’re not recommended for hunting unless you’re desperate for hide.
The white deer provide plenty of hide and meat on their own.
But if you want a challenge, then the cave bear can certainly provide one.
How Do You Craft the Hunting Bow in Return to Moria
The hunting bow can make both hunting and combat a bit easier.
To craft it, you’re first going to need to unlock the workbench.
Build the workbench in your base, and then you’ll see the recipe for the hunting bow and arrows inside it.

To craft the bow, you’ll need the following resources:
- 8 Elven Wood
- 2 Hide Scraps
Craft some arrows while you’re at it.
With your hunting bow ready, you can harvest hide without problem.
