The Eregion Shield keeps you protected from attacks while also giving off light in dark areas.

If that sounds like a great mix to you, then you’ll want to craft the Eregion Shield in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to craft the Eregion Shield and gather all its required resources in Return to Moria.

To see the process for yourself, be sure to watch the video below!

The Eregion Shield recipe can drop while repairing statues in the Elven Quarter.

You’ll need a steel hammer in order to repair the statues in this part of the mines.

Each statue requires stone, and the amount is a bit higher than what the broken statues earlier in the mines required.

Once you repair a statue, it has a chance to drop the recipe for the Eregion Shield.

You might also receive the recipe for Elven Arrows.

The Eregion Shield recipe comes in two parts, so you’ll need to repair at least two statues for it to drop.

Once you have both parts of the recipe, you can craft it.

You can only craft the Eregion Shield in the Great Forge of Narvi, located in the Elven Quarter.

To craft the Eregion Shield, you’ll need the following resources:

  • 3 Bronze Ingots
  • 9 True Quartz
  • 6 Elven Wood
  • 1 Hide

The two hardest resources to gather are bronze ingots and true quartz.

Elven wood you can find the Elven Quarter by chopping down the trees.

Hide you can gather by hunting down white deer in the Elven Quarter.

Bronze ingots you can make from tin and copper ore.

This type of ore is located deeper within the mine just past the condensed dirt that you need to dig through with a steel pickaxe.

Depending on how the mines randomly generate for you, it may be easy or difficult to find copper and tin ore.

The good news is that even if you don’t find any veins, there are ore nodes on the ground floor of the mines.

They only give about three units of ore every time you destroy them, but they do regenerate when you go to sleep.

So, it’s a slow, but reliable, way to harvest ore that doesn’t have a vein spawn for you.

True quartz is found in the elevator area that leads to the Lower Depths.

You’ll find a handful of nodes at the top that should hopefully give you the nine that you need.

Otherwise, you’ll need to repair the elevator and head down into the Lower Depths.

Once you have all your resources, you can craft the Eregion Shield in the Great Forge of Narvi.

The Eregion Shield is only a Tier I shield, but it has an additional ability that makes it worth crafting.

The shield can shed dim light in dark areas.

This makes it useful for exploring or fighting in areas that don’t have a light source.

You can’t pull out your torch, weapon, and shield at the same time.

So, having a shield that sheds some light allows you to just equip a weapon and keep fighting your enemies.

It’s also helpful for exploration in the event that your torch breaks and you’re out of wood.

Craft the Eregion Shield and see how it performs for you.
