If your hits just aren’t landing as much damage as you’d like, then using runes can give your weapons a bit more firepower.

From doing more damage to certain types of enemies to adding in abilities, runes can be a powerful ally while you delve deep into the mines.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to make the rune table in Return to Moria and how to use them.

To make the rune table in Return to Moria, you’re going to need to either repair or build it.

You can repair an existing rune table that you find in one of the dwarven outposts.

One of the earliest rune tables you find is shortly after leaving the Elven Quarter and into the mines, themselves.

Head down to the lower depths of the mine, and you’ll find a dwarven outpost.

Along with the usual broken stone hearth, furnace, and forge, you’ll also find a broken rune table.

You can repair it with 10 Elven Wood.

Now, while that might fix you up for the outpost, you might want a rune table for yourself in future bases.

You can also build a rune table from scratch.

You’ll need 1 steel ingot and 9 Elven Wood to make a rune table from scratch.

Either way, you can have your own table for inscribing powerful runes.

Elven wood isn’t the easiest resource to grind, so you might be wondering if making a rune table is worth the effort.

Rune tables are a powerful crafting station because they allow you to inscribe runes on your weapons.

Each rune has a specific buff or ability that you can add to any of your weapons.

Keep in mind, however, that only one rune can apply to one weapon.

So, you can’t have a weapon with multiple spaces for multiple runes.

One example is Khamin Rakhas which deals extra damage to orcs and glows when they’re nearby.

It makes the weapon even more powerful against orcs which could be useful for certain fights.

So, if you want to level up your weapons, then adding a rune to them is a great method.

To inscribe a rune, you’re going to need a rune table and some gems.

The rune tables rely on certain gemstones for each rune.

One might want sapphires, for example, while another might want citrine.

You can harvest gemstones when harvesting certain types of ore.

The ore has a chance of dropping a specific gemstone.

Iron ore, for example, tends to drop a lot of citrine.

Coal ore tends to drop a lot of amber.

So, if you need a specific gemstone, then be on the look for those veins throughout the mine.
