Food plays a critical role in Return to Moria in that you need it to stay full and to heal.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to build an oven in Return to Moria and what it can cook.

To unlock the oven recipe, you’re going to need to either pick up copper ore, a bronze ingot, or a copper ingot for the first time.

It most likely will be the copper ore that unlocks the oven recipe.

Once unlocked, you can head to your base and build it with the following recipes:

  • 3 Copper Ingots
  • 20 Stone
  • 25 Wood Scraps
  • 5 Coal

Place it where you want the oven and notice that it unlocks a food recipes.

The number of recipes it drops depends on what ingredients you’ve discovered and picked up so far.

The oven is unique in that it lets you cook food that act as dry rations.

These are rations that you can take out into the world.

Since food both heals and restores hunger, it’s a useful item you have with you while you explore the mines.

It can even come in handy during a pinch when faced with several enemies and low health.

To use the oven, you just need to interact with it, then choose the food item that you want to make.

Like cooking on the stone hearth, you’re going to need the appropriate food ingredients to cook the recipe.

The recipe for Biltong, for example, is three meat.

After waiting for the food to cook, you can fetch the food from the oven and put it in your pack or hot bar for quick access.

Now when you encounter trouble in the mines, you have a healing consumable you can use.
