Where To Find Cave Trolls in Return to Moria

Cave trolls don’t appear until you start to explore the deeper parts of the Western Halls past the Elven Quarter.

They tend to roam in large areas that typically have a Shadow Cursed area within it.

These trolls tend to guard ore veins, so it’s worth hunting them down and killing them, so you can mine safely.

How To Defeat Cave Trolls (Boss Guide)

There are a few different ways that you can fight cave trolls in Return to Moria.

If you’re in a group, then take advantage of your numbers and have different people using different weapons.

An archer is going to be great at taking down the troll’s natural armor, while dwarves armed with battleaxes can start to do heavy damage.

Just be ready to dodge since the troll can perform a number of different attacks that cause a lot of damage.

For solo dwarves, the best way to defeat a troll is to make a narrow passage in dirt or an ore vein.

Use that hole to dodge boulders which the troll will throw at you.

Use a bow with elven arrows to shoot the troll and stay out of its reach.

This ensures you won’t get hit while slowly taking down the troll.

It may take a while, but it’s a sure way to take him down on your own.

Additionally, cave trolls are weak to light.

So, if you can get it in a spot where light shines down, then you might immediately take care of them as they turn to stone.
