You’ll need to travel to the Lower Deeps to find Ubasam wood in Return to Moria.
The Lower Deeps are accessible after fixing the Mine Hoist.
It will take you through the Crystal Descent and into the Lower Deeps.
The Crystal Descent, itself, is a challenge.
It’s a pit with broken ramps, structures, and walls that are tricky to navigate.
You’ll want to bring along a lot of wood and natural fiber to build quick platforms and rope ladders.
Both are essential to safely reaching the bottom of the Crystal Descent.
It’s also worth having stone or a black diamond on you.
At the bottom of the Crystal Descent are two mapstones.
You can fix one to allow yourself to fast travel to this area again in the future.
Just be sure to interact with the mapstone after fixing it to activate it.
Once you reach the Lower Deeps, it’s time to start looking for Ubasam wood.
It’s basically any of the large fungi that you see in the area.
It typically glows.
Chop down the fungi trees, and you’ll receive a handful of Ubasam wood.
What Does Ubasam Trees Look Like in Return to Moria
You’ll know you’ve found Ubasam wood trees if it looks like fungi.
They can be tall or short.
Some glow purple while others glow red or green.
The Lower Deeps is basically full of Ubasam wood.
Take out your iron axe and start swinging to chop it all down.
What Does Ubasam Wood Unlock in Return to Moria
After picking up Ubasam wood for the first time, you’ll receive three unlocks.
They include:
- Loom
- Ubasam wood pallet
- Pier
The first is the loom.
You can use the loom to craft clothing items.
The second is the pallet for Ubasam wood which you can use to store the resource.
Like the other wood resources, one pallet can hold 450 units of Ubasam wood.
The final recipe is a building structure called the pier.
It enables you to build on water.
Ubasam wood is also a required resource for some tier III items and weapons, so collect a good amount to be able to craft new items.
