If the idea of being able to trade right within your own village sounds good to you, then you need a beggar’s hut.

You’ll have to jump through a few hoops in order to unlock the blueprint for the huts though.

First, you’ll need to make your way through the “Open the Gates” quest.

It tasks you with visiting the leaders of various villages in the valley.

You’ll also need to raise your Dynasty Legend level to seven.

Completing quests for the village heads, the village’s populace, or completing special projects can help you earn Dynasty Legend.

Once you reach level seven, it’s time to visit the monastery.

You’ll find the isolated temple all the way in the southeast portion of the map.

It’s directly east of the farming village, Aratani.

Once you arrive, head to the top where you’ll likely find the abbot.

After speaking with him, he’ll unlock three different recipes for the beggar’s huts.

They all work the same, but you might find that you appreciate a particular style more than the rest.

With the blueprints unlocked, it’s time to build one, or as many as you like, in your village.

Now, you might not immediately think that something called a beggar’s hut has anything to do with earning money.

But it does.

The problem is that a beggar, or hermit, only has a chance of spawning each season.

If you don’t see a beggar in the hut when your new season begins, then they’re not coming.

You’ll have to wait until next season to see if they spawn.

Building more than one hut isn’t a bad idea, especially if you want to see what each variant looks like.

There are three different hut variants.

Here’s how to build each one.

Hut one requires the following resources:

  • 5 Planks (Any Type)
  • 5 Sticks
  • 5 Stone
  • 1 Iron Ore

Hut two requires the following resources:

  • 5 Planks (Any Type)
  • 4 Sticks

Hut three requires the following resources:

  • 4 Bamboo
  • 4 Straw
  • 4 Planks (Any Type)

The different huts don’t do anything different from each other, so if you want to build a lot and don’t care about appearance, then hut two requires the least amount of resources.

You’ll find the blueprints after equipping your building hammer and entering the build menu.

From there, you’ll need to navigate to the “Village Structures” section and then the “Trade Village Structures” section.

Fill the blueprint with the required resources after putting it where you want it, and you’ll have a hut ready to house a hermit.

Why You Should Build a Beggar’s Hut in Sengoku Dynasty

Beggar huts are actually great ways to kickstart your trade.

They’re not as reliable as markets, since hermits won’t always spawn in your village, but since you won’t be able to unlock the market for some time, the huts provide an early way to do some trade.

Because the hermit spawns at your village, you don’t have to travel anywhere to trade.

You can walk right up to them and sell them things.

You might even find that they’re selling some items that you need.

The exchange allows you to save time and even money, since you won’t have to fast-travel to other villages to sell your items.

Beggar huts are a great way to do early-game trading, which can kickstart your wealth in Sengoku Dynasty.
