Ore is a vital resource since you can smelt it into ingots, which are used for various items.
Obtaining ore in large quantities isn’t always easy.
In this survival guide, we’ll show you the best place to set up an ore farm and which Pals to use for it.
Where Can You Get Ore in Palworld

You can easily spot ore nodes throughout Palworld by its shape and color.
These large nodes are brown with some white spatterings on them.
Even more easily, they glimmer.
You can collect a large number of ore from a single node.
Or, you can also find small pieces of ore on the ground in areas like the Volcano biome.
You can pick up the pieces of ore as if they were a flower or some other resource.
This is a longer way to collect ore, however, as you’ll need to run around the biome looking for the pieces of ore sprouting up from the ground.
A much faster way is to set up an ore farm.
How Do You Harvest Ore in Palworld

There are two ways to mine ore in Palworld.
The first is with a pickaxe.
The better quality your pickaxe is, the more ore your can collect.
This also impacts the pickaxe’s durability.
It typically lasts longer, which means you can collect more ore before the pickaxe breaks.
Gathering ore manually is long, however, which is why the other method is better.
You can select certain Pals to mine ore for you.
Not every Pal with Mining Levels can get the job done though.
You need a Pal with Mining Level 2, at least, to mine ore for you.
There are also a few Pals that are better at getting ore than others.
Here’s a list of the best Pals to gather ore starting from the weakest to the strongest:
- Dumud
- Anubis
- Astegon
Dumud is a great beginner miner since it has Level Mining 2, and you can get your hands on one early in the game.
You just need to hit up some outposts, and there’s a chance that a Dumud will spawn in a cage.
You can also mount Dumud and mine at the same time, so you’re basically doubling your production.
Anubis is the next-best Pal for mining because it has a Level 3 Mining skill along with a Level 2 Transporting skill.
It can quickly gather a bunch of ore, then transport it for you.
Since Anubis is also great at so many other things, it’s worth having one in your base.
Finally, if you want the top-tier miner in your base, then you’ll want Astegon.
He’s a big Pal and the only one that has Level 4 mining (so far).
He’ll easily blast away ore, and since he works faster when mounted, you can rush around on an ore run and have more than you could possibly carry in no time.
How To Set Up an Ore Farm in Palworld

Now, I know what you’re thinking.
Gathering ore yourself or even with your Pal takes too long.
An ore farm sounds much better.
The good news is you can start one as soon as you start the game.
You just need to head to the location designated by the map below.

There are tons of nodes in this relatively safe area.
Even better, it’s right next to a Statue of Power and a fast travel waypoint.
You’ll know you’re in the right area if there’s a desolate church right next door.
With so many nodes around, you can have your Pals mining from them day-in and day-out each time they appear.
They’ll be collecting ore by the dozens, which means you can bring home hundreds of ore.
Your ingot needs are basically satisfied.
Collect your ore, start up your farm, and never worry about having enough ingots again.
