There are quite a few weapons that you can find or make in the game, but there’s always one that feels just right–the shotgun.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you where you can find the shotgun in Sons of the Forest.

Where To Find the Shotgun in Sons of the Forest

The shotgun is actually right under the player’s nose the entire time.

It’s located at one of the purple markers on the player’s GPS.

The problem is that you need a specific tool to access it.

The shotgun is buried in a soldier’s grave.

You’ll need the shovel to dig up the grave and gain ownership of the shotgun.

Once you have the shovel, head to the northern-most purple marker on your GPS.

You’ll know you’re in the right area if you find yourself surrounded by roads.

Keep in mind there are a few cannibal villages in the area.

So, that means you’ll have plenty of test subjects to try your new shotgun on!

Shotgun Stats

The shotgun is one powerful weapon.

It also takes two different types of ammo.

You can use slug ammo with it or buckshot.

Slug is rarer to find in the world, so use it sparingly.

Both do incredible damage on your enemies.

For cannibals, a well-placed shot can kill them in one.

Even mutants go down pretty quickly with a shot or two from the shotgun.

It’s great for running caves with, so you might want to grab the shotgun before heading into major cave systems like the Cultist Cave, for example.

You can also add a flashlight attachment to the shotgun, making it even easier to use in the caves.

Of all the weapons out there, it’s hard not to love the shotgun in Sons of the Forest.
