The Lower Deeps is home to many surprises, one of them being another Ranger campsite.
You’ll need to find Ranger Journal Pages to unlock the new brewing recipe awaiting you, and it can be tricky to find them with how vast the Lower Deeps are.
In this survival guide, we’ll show you where to find the Ranger’s Journal Pages and campsite in the Lower Deeps section of Return to Moria.
Where are the Ranger’s Journal Pages in the Lower Deeps

The Lower Deeps is an extensive section of Return to Moria.
There are tons of winding paths, tunnels, and cave sections to explore.
Danger also fills the area with tunnels filled with Shadow and orc strongholds.
Finding the Ranger’s Journal Pages in the Lower Deeps isn’t easy.
However, there are two main areas to search.
The first, and most reliable, is orc outposts.
You’ll come across some of these outposts as you explore the Lower Deeps.
Defeat the orcs and then break the totem in the middle of the outpost.
It will give you a key, which you can use to unlock the nearby chest.
Along with treasure, you’ll also discover a Ranger’s Journal Page.
You can find several pages by defeating orcs in their strongholds and raiding their chests.
The other method is to keep your eyes peeled around ruins.
There can sometimes be a journal page somewhere among ruins or nearby.
They’re difficult to spot, so you’ll need an extra sharp pair of eyes to find them.
Where is the Ranger’s Camp in the Lower Deeps
The Ranger’s Camp can randomly spawn in any of the caves that you explore in the Lower Deeps.
In my experience, I’ve found that the campsite spawns in the sections that load right after the Great Drain Pipes.
That doesn’t mean yours will spawn in the same area, however.
That said, it’s very likely that the camp will spawn before the next phase of the cave system.
Specifically, I’m talking about the region that you gain access to after you drain the water inside of the Great Forge of Belegost.
If you go beyond that area, you likely won’t find the camp there.
So, search all the different routes before the Great Forge of Belegost, and you’ll likely stumble upon the camp.
I discovered that the camp typically spawns in an area with some orcs, so you may need to clear the area out in order to explore the camp at your leisure.
What Does The Ranger’s Journal Unlock in the Lower Deeps

Aragorn is our trusty Ranger who leaves us new recipes with each of his journals.
The Lower Deeps journal has one brewing recipe that we can unlock.
It’s the recipe to make Orkish medicine.
In the journal, Aragorn explains that he was injured while exploring and had to rely on crude Orkish medicine to make it out of the fight.
Orkish medicine is a gamble, but if you like a bit of chaos in your game, then you’ll want to brew it and start using it.
Otherwise, keep your eye out for the next Ranger campsite later in the game.
