Beginner-Level Methods for Surviving the Desert

When you just start out in Palworld, it can be tough living in the desert or even just traveling through it.

The hot temperatures zap away at your health every second you’re in there.

But you can survive as a beginner level in the desert.

There are two outfits that can make surviving the hot temperatures of the desert possible.

The first is the cloth outfit.

The cloth outfit is an early, inexpensive, type of clothing that provides some protection from the cold at night.

It’s easy to forget that it gets cold in the desert.

The kind of cold that can kill you, too.

Crafting the cloth outfit can help survive the frigid nights of the desert.

Once you reach level 9, you’ll be able to unlock the Tropical Outfit.

This outfit is crucial for early survival in the desert.

As soon as you equip it, you’ll find that walking around in the hot temperatures is a lot easier.

It doesn’t offer too much protection from other types of damage, but at least you can walk around your base in it without succumbing to the heat.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Tropical Outfit:

With these two early-game outfits, you can start navigating the desert in Palworld.

Advanced-Level Methods for Surviving the Desert

Now, once you start leveling up further, you’ll be able to craft better types of armor as well as some items that can make your life in the desert easier.

The first is Heat-Resistant Pelt Armor.

This is a higher tier version of Pelt Armor, which reduces heat damage.

There are a lot of Fire Types of Pals in the desert, so taking in a reduced amount of damage from the heat is crucial.

Take a look at what you need to craft Heat-Resistant Pelt Armor:

• Crafting Resources: 15 Leather, 4 Flame Origin

The next piece of armor to keep an eye on is when you hit level 25.

You’ll be able to unlock and craft Heat-Resistant Metal Armor.

Metal Armor is great because it helps reduce all types of damage that you take.

The Heat-Resistant version of Metal Armor further reduces heat damage.

You’ll be able to walk through the desert with more confidence.

Take a look at everything you need to make Heat-Resistant Metal Armor:

• Crafting Resources: 40 Ingots, 13 Leather, 8 Cloth, 8 Flame Origin

Now, advanced players also have access to certain structures that can make living in the desert more pleasant.

The cooler is one such item.

It’s a structure that cools a small radius around it.

You can make a few of them and place them in key areas in your base.

When you stand by the cooler, it keeps the heat from affecting your character.

You may need to make a few coolers to make your entire base comfortable, but it may be worth the expense.

Here’s what you need to make a cooler:

• Tech Points: 2
• Crafting Resources: 20 Ingots, 20 Stone, 5 Ice Origin

Finally, there’s a Pal that can make walking around the desert nicer, too.

Reindrix is an advanced Pal that has a unique ability.

Its Partner Skill enables it to keep you cool in hot environments.

You just need to make a saddle for it, then mount it.

When you ride around the desert, you’ll notice that the heat doesn’t effect you anymore.

All these items together can make it so you can take on more advanced Pals in the desert biome.

Expert-Level Methods for Surviving the Desert

Once you start hitting level 40, there are a few more items, armor, and Pals that can make sure you’re king of the desert.

The first is Heat-Resistant Refined Metal Armor.

It’s another variant of Refined Metal Armor which provides even more defense for your character.

The Heat-Resistant version also makes it so the heat doesn’t damage your character.

Here are some of its specs:

• Level Unlock: 40
• Tech Points: 4
• Crafting Resources: 40 Refined Ingots, 20 Leather, 3 High-Quality Cloth, 12 Flame Origin

It’s a bit expensive, but you’ll find it worth it.

That is, you’ll find it worth it until you hit level 48.

That’s when the best heat-resistant armor type drops.

It’s Heat-Resistant Pal Metal Armor.

It’s the Heat-Resistant version of Pal Metal Armor, which is incredibly strong and offers massive defenses.

Flame-Type Pals and the desert will have a hard time killing you while wearing this type of armor.

Here’s how you can make it:

• Level Unlock: 48
• Tech Points: 5
• Crafting Resources: 30 Pal Metal Ingots, 30 Leather, 6 High-Quality Cloth, 16 Flame Origin

It’s expensive, but it’s the best armor in the game for the desert.

There’s also an item that can make the desert more survivable.

It’s the next version of the cooler, the Electric Cooler.

It has an even wider radius that it keeps cool, so you can remove some of your coolers to make space in your base.

The Electric Cooler also does a better job of keeping the area cool.

To make one, you’ll need the following:

• Level Unlock: 42
• Tech Points: 3
• Crafting Resources: 30 Refined Ingots, 10 Circuit Boards, 30 Ingots, 10 Ice Organ

Finally, there’s a Pal that can make the desert easily survivable.

It’s Kitsun.

Kitsun is a mountable Pal that makes it so that both cold and hot temperatures won’t affect you.

No matter if it’s freezing at night or hot during the day, if you’re traveling around on Kitsun, you’ll feel totally fine.

That also includes whether you wear armor or not.

Kitsun frees you from having to wear specific types of armor just to move through a biome.
