There are three types of armor that beginner-level players can craft to survive the frigid temperatures in the frozen biome.

The first is the Cloth Outfit.

It’s one of the first types of armor that’s unlockable, and it can keep you warm at night.

It won’t offer too much protection, however, since temperatures in the frozen area drop beyond what the Cloth Outfit can protect against at night.

So, you’ll need to accompany this with a torch, at least.

Here’s what you need to know to make the Cloth Outfit:

  • Level Unlock: 4
  • Tech Points: 2
  • Crafting Resources: 2 Cloth

Try to level as quickly as you can, so you can unlock the Tundra Outfit.

This armor type will offer far more protection than the Cloth Outfit.

It may even make the night time a bit easier to survive, but you’ll likely still need higher-tier armor to be completely comfortable.

That said, the Tundra Outfit does well in keeping you safe during the day and safer at night.

Here’s what you need to craft it:

  • Level Unlock: 9
  • Tech Points: 3
  • Crafting Resources: 3 Cloth, 2 Ice Organ

The last armor type to keep an eye on as you level is Pelt Armor.

This type of armor offers far more protection from the cold, and you should be able to move around more freely in the frozen biome with it.

To make Pelt Armor, you’ll need the following:

  • Level Unlock: 12
  • Tech Points: 2
  • Crafting Resources: 10 Leather

It’s an inexpensive item, but wearing Pelt Armor can allow you to survive longer in the frozen biome.

It’s also possible to catch a Pal that can make surviving the frozen biome easier.

Arsox is a type of Pal that regularly spawns in an enemy’s camp.

Defeat the thugs and free Arsox to have one join your party.

Unlock its saddle, and when you ride it around, its warm body protects you from the cold.

You won’t have to worry about wearing armor if you have a Arsox you can use to run around the biome.

Advanced-Level Methods for Surviving the Frozen Biome in Palworld

One of your best friends in the frozen biome is going to be the heater.

It’s a structure that you can build, which generates heat in a small radius.

You’ll likely need a few of them to keep your entire base warm.

However, it’s a great way to make your base easier to live in when the temperatures drop.

To make the heater, you’ll need the following:

  • Level Unlock: 17
  • Tech Points: 2
  • Crafting Resources: 20 Ingots, 10 Charcoal, 3 Flame Organ

There are also two types of armor that you can make to defend yourself better against the cold.

The first is Cold-Resistant Pelt Armor.

This is a variant of Pelt Armor, which offers some defense, but this version makes it even harder for Ice Pals to hurt you.

To make it, you’ll need the following:

  • Level Unlock: 18
  • Tech Points: 2
  • Crafting Resources: 15 Leather, 4 Ice Organ

The top-tier armor comes near the end of the advanced stage.

It’s Cold-Resistant Metal Armor.

Metal Armor is great because it offers substantial defense against damage.

The cold-resistant version of it takes that damage and makes it even more effective against ice types.

Since there are quite a few Ice Pals in the frozen area, wearing this armor ensures your encounters them work in your favor.

To make the Cold-Resistant Metal Armor, you’ll need the following:

  • Level Unlock: 27
  • Tech Points: 2
  • Crafting Resources: 40 Ingots, 3 Leather, 8 Cloth, 8 Ice Organ

Arsox is still a great Pal to have in this area as an advanced player.

Level your Arsox up, so they can take care of most threats.

Most importantly, continue to ride around on him to enjoy his protection from the cold.

As soon as you reach level 40, you’re hitting expert tier.

You have two sets of armor that can make you the master of the frozen biome.

The first is Cold-Resistant Refined Metal Armor.

This is an even stronger type of armor that can make it difficult for Ice Pals to hurt you.

To make it, you’ll need the following:

  • Level Unlock: 41
  • Tech Points: 4
  • Crafting Resources: 40 Refined Ingots, 20 Leather, 3 High-Quality Cloth, 2 Ice Organ

Even better than that armor though is the Cold-Resistant Pal Metal Armor.

This is a cold-focused variant of Pal Metal Armor.

It offers the most defense for Ice Pals and cold environments.

Here’s what you need to make it:

  • Level Unlock: 50
  • Tech Points: 5
  • Crafting Resources: 30 Pal Metal Ingots, 30 Leather, 6 High-Quality Cloth, 12 Ice Organ

There’s little that can damage you easily while wearing this armor.

On top of that, there’s also an improved heater you can make.

The Electric Heater covers an even wider radius with heat.

This allows you to remove some of your other coolers and replace them with only a few Electric Heaters.

That means more room in your base for other things.

The Electric Heater also does a better job of heating the area, so you can wear whatever type of armor you want and still be warm.

To make the Electric Heater, you need the following:

  • Level Unlock: 41
  • Tech Points: 2
  • Crafting Resources: 30 Refined Ingots, 10 Circuit Boards, 30 Ingots, 10 Flame Origin

Finally, it’s time to get your hands on the ultimate Pal for surviving the frozen biome–the Kitsun.

The Kitsun is a remarkable Pal because it offers protection from the cold and heat.

As long as you’re mounted on it, you don’t have to worry about succumbing to the cold anymore.

And if you plan on taking a trip to the desert, it can keep you safe there, too.

By preparing yourself, you can make the frozen biome your ideal home.
