There’s only one place where you can craft the Shanor Hammer, and that’s in the Great Forge of Belegost.

You won’t be able to access the Great Forge of Belegost, however, until you drain the water filling it.

To do that, you’ll need to repair the Great Drain Pipes.

You can find out how to repair the Great Drain Pipes with this guide.

Once you’ve fixed the pipes, you’re not done repairing.

You need to repair the Great Forge of Belegost next.

Luckily, the replacement parts are in the same area, so this is a quick fix.

Once you have the Great Forge of Belegost running, you can access it to make the Shanor Hammer.

You’ll need the following resources:

  • 3 Shanor Ingots
  • 1 Black Diamond
  • 4 Ubasam Wood

Other than the black diamond, the Shanor Hammer isn’t too expensive to make.

You’ll be able to smelt shanor ingots, and the Lower Deeps is full of ubasam wood.

If you don’t have any black diamonds, you may want to defeat some orcs or take on a boss.

Warren of the Deep Orcs will drop some black diamonds if you defeat him.

Once you have all the items you need, head to the Great Forge of Belegost and make the Shanor Hammer.

The Shanor Hammer has a few features, and it also unlocks two new crafting recipes.

It’s able to repair complex statues that you can find past the Eastern Stairs.

Since these statues often drop new armor and weapon recipes, it’s worth making the hammer.

It also repairs buildings faster, so if you want to fix up your base in a short amount of time, the hammer can help you.

Most importantly, it’s needed to fix the Eastern Stairs.

The Eastern Stairs progress the game, allowing you to travel to the next section of Moria.

You’ll also notice that when you craft the Shanor Hammer, it also unlocks a new recipe.

You’ll receive the Ufuhan Furnace and Khuzdul Forge recipes.

It’s time to upgrade your smelting and forging!
