Realm Cards are at the very heart of Nightingale’s gameplay.
Getting the hang of how they work can ensure your time traveling through the Realms either goes very well or very poorly.
In this survival guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about Realm Cards in Nightingale.
What Are Realm Cards?

Realm Cards are pieces of a puzzle that you can put together to create a world, or Realm, that you want to explore.
There are different variants to each Realm, and each card that you make or put together can create a certain version of a Realm.
For example, you could have a Biome Realm Card for the desert, which would take you to a Realm that’s primarily a desert.
But if you play another Realm Card, like one that makes the Realm more filled with food, then you’ll end up going to a desert filled with life.
You need Realm Cards to explore other Realms in the hopes of one day reaching the city of Nightingale.
In terms of survival, it can help you go to new places where you can find new materials and resources to build with or create new weapons and tools.
How To Get Realm Cards in Nightingale

There are several ways that you can get Realm Cards in Nightingale.
The cards that advance the story typically have to be found in dungeons.
These are dangerous locations that test brain and brawn.
You can also find other types of Realm Cards, too, in mini-dungeons.
Since each Realm has its share of dangers, it’s also possible to find minor Realm Cards in treasure chests.
These are typically cards that allow you to modify worlds rather than take you to a new location.
You can also buy Realm Card blueprints from an Essence Trader.
You’ll have to make the card, or buy them directly, but stopping by an Essence Trader to see what they have is always a good idea.
What Types of Realm Cards Are There in Nightingale

There are several types of Realm Cards in Nightingale with some of them being major and others being minor.
The major Realm Cards tend to be Biome and Type.
Biome Realm Cards determine the landscape you’ll be exploring.
These are locations like a forest, swamp, or desert.
Type cards basically determine how dangerous the Realm will be.
Will you explore a relatively peaceful swamp or a dangerous forest?
The Type cards you can find include:
- Abeyance
- Antiquarian
- Astrolabe
- Provisioner
- Herberium
- Gloom
- Hunt
You add these with a Biome card to travel to new Realms.
Minor Realm Cards act more like modifiers.
There are several of them out there.
A Treasure Realm Card, for example, will influence how many treasure chests spawn in the Realm.
A Feast Realm Card will increase the amount of food sources in a Realm.
There are tons of different Minor Cards that can impact your gameplay.
How Do You Craft Realm Cards in Nightingale
Crafting realm cards requires you to purchase the Simple Enchanter’s Focus, at the very least.
Any Realm Card blueprint you buy, you can make with an Enchanter’s workstation.
You may need better versions of the workstation to craft more advanced cards, however.
With the workstation, you’ll see the resources you need to create each Realm Card.
It typically requires paper and ink.
Make the necessary resources, and then craft your card in the workstation.
Once it’s finished, the Realm Card will add to your inventory.
How Do You Use Realm Cards in Nightingale

There are two ways to use Realm Cards in Nightingale.
The major way is by opening up Portals to explore new Realms.
You need to first craft a Biome and Type card.
These will determine what type of Realm to travel to.
Then take your cards to a Portal and insert them into the machine.
You’ll likely need to fend off some Bonded enemies until the Portal opens.
Simply pass through the Portal to enter a new Realm.
The other use is to modify the Realm you’re currently on.
You do this through the Realmic Transmuter.
You’ll need to find it in your Realm first.
It’s relatively easy to spot.
Just look for some statues surrounding a globe.
You’ll need some minor cards with you.
When you have one you want to modify your world with, interact with the Realmic Transmuter.
Insert the card, and the Realm will change based on the card you inserted.
It’s a great way to get more food, ore, or anything else you need.
Realm Cards are powerful and because of how many there are, you can have tons of different combinations to use and explore.
