Completing Durin’s Axe gets one step closer with its 4th axe fragment.

Players will have to travel to Dwarrowdelf, however, to get their hands on it.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you where to get Durin’s 4th axe fragment in Return to Moria.

How To Pick Up Durin’s 4th Axe Fragment Quest

To get started with the 4th axe fragment quest, you’ll need to find Balin’s Akhfur chest in Dwarrowdelf.

You’ll find it just after encountering Balin’s tomb.

You’ll need to open the chest to begin the quest.

If you’re not sure how to open Balin’s chest or where to find it, check out our Balin’s Akhfur chest guide here.

After opening it, you’ll receive a new hint on where to find the 4th axe fragment.

The exact location of the axe fragment is completely random for each save file, but there are a few similarities.

The axe fragment tends to spawn in an abandoned home or store.

Follow the blue icon to get to the search area, then start looking through abandoned homes and stores.

In both my save files, the axe fragment was floating in the air.

You might find the same problem.

Either jump or build a walkway up to the axe fragment to get your hands on it.

Once you claim it, you’ll have a bit of lore to read.

You’re also one step closer to completing Durin’s axe.
