A Story of Rot is the sister quest to A Story of Fire in Enshrouded.

It tasks you with finding an ancient obelisk and discovering new lore of the world.

How To Pick Up A Story of Rot Quest in Enshrouded

To pick up A Story of Rot, you’re going to need to speak with the Flame.

It’s one of the first quests that the Flame gives you after rescuing the Blacksmith.

Along with A Story of Rot, it will also give you A Story of Fire.

A Story of Rot Quest Walkthrough

To start your journey, first fast travel to the Low Meadows Spire.

Head to the North-East section of the tower.

You should see a stretch of green hill above some Shroud.

To the right of the hill is a building with a bridge leading to the stretch of green hill.

If you have the double-jump skill, double-jump and glide down to the stretch of green hill.

If you don’t, glide down to the building instead and take the bridge to the green hill.

Walk along the edge of the hill with the shroud to your left.

Eventually, you’ll see a road.

You can follow it or continue on the edge of the hill.

Either way, you’ll encounter some wolves along the way.

Kill or run past them.

The road will eventually take you to a village called Wistful Fields.

There will be enemies here.

You can dispatch them or simply move ahead with the quest.

Get to the right side of the village and head towards the cliff edge.

You should see another town below you and a stone bridge beyond that.

Glide down to the village and head for the large bridge.

This town is also full of enemies, so clear them out if you like or just follow the road to the bridge.

As you cross the bridge, be aware that there’s going to be a section that requires the grappling hook.

Swing over the gap and continue to make your way across the bridge.

There’s another section that’s missing.

If you have double-jump, you can clear the gap.

If you don’t, you might not get enough height to cross.

Jump while on the right side of the bridge so that if you don’t make it, you’ll have an easy to climb up and around.

Once you cross the bridge, you should see the obelisk and a small camp ahead of you.

Head into the camp first.

There’s a journal in the tent on the left that provides more lore about the obelisk.

Then approach the obelisk and interact with it.

Not only will you get more lore about the Ancients, but you’ll also complete the quest.

You’ll get 75 XP for completing the quest.

That will complete the A Story of Rot quest!
