Now that you have a few buildings up, it’s time to decide who’s going to be your first villager in Medieval Dynasty.

Workers are incredibly helpful since they help gather resources passively.

This allows you time to go out and take care of some other business.

Choosing the right villager to join your village is important as it will determine how free you are to take care of other important business.

The best villager to invite to your village first is the hunter, and here are a few reasons why.

Why The Hunter Should Be Your First Villager in Medieval Dynasty

The hunter is the best villager to get first in Medieval Dynasty because they can gather meat for you.

Without a hunter, you’re going to be spending a lot of time out in the forests hunting yourself.

If you want to operate as a hunter, then this might be fine for you.

However, if you want to be a farmer or a trader, then you don’t have the time to spend all day in the woods.

As such, having the hunter get a good amount of meat for you, and anyone else you might have, can be a great help.

In addition to meat, the hunter can also collect feathers, fur, and leather.

Feathers are a required ingredient for crafting arrows.

Fur and leather are also ingredients for craftable items, but you can also sell them for decent prices on their own.

Once your food is all set, your village is essentially starting out strong.

How Do You Get The Hunter in Medieval Dynasty?

To invite a hunter to your village, you first need to build a home.

You can follow our home-building guide to prepare a place for them to live.

You’ll then need to unlock the Hunter’s Lodge.

A hunter can’t hunt without the lodge.

To unlock the lodge, you need to acquire 50 technology points in the Hunter’s Skill Tree.

The best way to acquire those points is to hunt.

You’ll want to spend some time in the woods hunting rabbits and other animals to level that stat up.

Once you have 50 technology points, the Hunter’s Lodge will automatically unlock.

You can then find it in your Building Menu by pressing the “Q” key and navigating to the “Hunting” slot.

Once you set the blueprint down on the ground, you’ll need to require some resources to build it.

To build the Hunter’s Lodge, you’ll need:

  • 8 stones for the foundation
  • 8 logs for the framing
  • 12 logs for the building
  • 66 sticks for the building
  • 32 straw for the building

Now that your lodge is ready, you need to find an actual hunter.

Each season, random villagers with specific skills spawn in each village.

As such, you need to travel to a village and speak with those there to determine their skill set.

The villager you want to invite will typically talk about the thrill of chasing prey or following tracks.

It’s also worth seeing what sort of work they don’t enjoy, so you know if you can potentially use them elsewhere if needed.

Finally, it’s good to choose a male hunter over a female hunter.

You can always invite a female hunter down the line, but it’s best to start off with a male hunter.

That’s because female villagers will stop working for two years once they give birth.

If you only have a single female hunter, then you’re going to have a period of time in which no one is gathering meat for you.

As such, it’s best to choose a male hunter if you can or keep the female hunter alone in her own house until you can acquire another male hunter.

How Do You Get The Hunter To Hunt in Medieval Dynasty?

Once you have a hunter, they won’t automatically start hunting.

First, you need to assign them to the hunter’s lodge.

To do so, you’ll want to hit the “N” key on your keyboard to bring up the Management menu.

You simply click on the villager’s name, then under their jobs, select the hunter’s lodge.

That’s not all!

You then need to go into the Hunter’s Lodge, and on the right side, click “Management.”

Once there, you’ll see a list of different items that the hunter can start to collect.

You can increase the number of items which then increases the percentage of their work level.

This allows you to collect a number of different items or simply focus on one item at a high amount.

Finally, you need to put a stone knife in their chest inside the lodge or in your resource barn.

They’ll use the knife to hunt and harvest other items.

Without a knife, they can’t do their job, so you’ll need to keep an eye on if they’re missing a knife or not.

With everything they need, your hunter will start to collect meat or whatever else you have them gathering.

Conclusion

If you want to start your village off strong and don’t plan on becoming a hunter, then inviting a hunter is the best villager to first choose in Medieval Dynasty.

The hunter will collect enough meat to keep your village fed in its initial stages.

After building the lodge, finding a hunter, putting a knife in the lodge or resource barn, and then telling them what to do, your hunter will get to work.
