Cooking buffs have become all the rage in survival games.

Sons of the Forest doesn’t disappoint with its own cooking pot that allows you to cook different items and unlock certain cooking buffs.

In this survival guide, we’ll go over where to find the cooking pot, how to use it, and its different recipes and buffs.

Where To Find The Cooking Pot

If you’ve read or watched our video about where to find the Knight V, then you’re going to head back to that campsite.

You can find a cooking pot at the same location.

Basically, you’re going to look towards the middle of the map on the GPS.

You should see two rivers that run close to each other.

The campsite is just north towards the mountain of the river that’s above the other river.

You’ll know you’re in the right place if you see a small waterfall and some Knight Vs.

The cooking pot is at the center of the campsite.

How To Use The Cooking Pot

After picking up the cooking pot, it will go straight into your inventory.

To use it, you’re going to need to equip it from your inventory.

Then take it to a nearby water source and fill it with water.

You’ll want to create a campfire to use it on, and it’s not a bad idea to add some firewood to the mix.

Otherwise, the fire might burn out before your food has finished cooking.

When everything is ready, click on the campfire, and it will automatically add your cooking pot if it’s in your hands.

Cooking Recipes and Buffs

There are several cooking recipes that you can cook with the pot.

The food items that don’t provide much buffs aside from filling your food, water, rest, health, and stamina meters include:

  • Kelvin Special
  • Boiled Meat
  • Chicken Noodle Soup
  • Cream of Mushroom
  • Greg
  • Kitchen Sink

The Kitchen Sink does provide a large health boost, however.

The food items that do provide a cook buff include:

  • Liquid Battery
  • Lumberjack Juice
  • Protein Shake

It should also be noted that the Egg Nog recipe is either bugged or does not have any effect at the time of writing.

Liquid Battery basically fills your rest meter.

It does so better than a typical energy drink.

Lumberjack Juice makes chopping wood a lot faster.

Instead of needing several swings, you’re able to reduce the chops you need to make to the tree to make it fall.

Protein Shake basically makes you stronger.

It will give you a 4x strength buff.

Cooking buffs last for four hours.

Conclusion

Cooking buffs can help you modify your character to keep you prepared for any outcome.

Finding the cooking pot lets you cook the food that will result in a cooking buff.
