Sons of the Forest released patch 7 which brings in a bunch of new features.

You can now ride around the island in your own golf cart and even host your own server through Dedicated Servers.

Players will notice a new endboss and cutscene at the end of the game.

If you’ve already beaten the game, then it might be worth loading an older save to see the new boss and cutscene.

The devs have also released dedicated servers.

Golf carts are now drivable.

They provide a quick way for groups of people to get around the island together.

There’s also a new weapon in the game.

You can find a rifle in one of the caves as well as rifle ammo around the island.

To make the game a bit more immersive, you’ll also find decorative frogs hopping around on lily pads.

For the hunters out there, you can also remove the heads of your kills and put them up as trophies.

This relates to animal kills, in particular.

The devs have also introduced even more stone building structures.

You can now build stone doorways, windows, struts, and detached pillars.

There’s also now a storage structure in which to hold your stones.

At long last, you can also build shutters for your windows.

Now, you no longer need to worry about those cold breezes coming through your opened windows in winter.

The eastern side of the map has also undergone some changes.

It has more streams, waterfalls, cannibal villages, and even rope bridges.

You’ll find a more story notes scattered about the map to deepen the lore.

And the devs have also introduced a dirty water system.

You can no longer directly drink from ponds, lakes, rivers, etc without boiling the water first.

If you drink directly from the source, then your health will receive a slight impact.

You can boil water by using a cooking pot.

The other main source of clean water is rainwater collected in your rain collector.
