One is on the western side of the mountain, and the other is on the eastern side of the mountain near a large lake.

You’ll find the cave entrance at the cave marker on the map that’s just on the edge of the mountains on the western side.

You’re going to want to look for a large lake with a cliff on its western half.

You’ll find the cave entrance just off the lake.

If it’s winter when you head to this cave, then the lake might be frozen, allowing you to walk across its surface to reach the entrance.

How To Prepare for the Cultist Cave

The cultist cave is large and filled with mutants.

You’re going to want a few things to make it through alive.

It’s possible to run through the cave without engaging any of the enemies inside.

The cave is large enough that you can sneak around them or just avoid them.

However, if you plan on going on the offensive, then you’re going to want to pack plenty of ammo.

Having a flashlight with plenty of batteries to spare is also vital since the cave is quite dark.

Loading yourself up with grenades, molotovs, and other explosives can also make it easier.

Have medicine and herbal medicine on hand, too, to help keep yourself healthy while you push along.

There are a few spots where you can set up camp safely, too.

It’s not a bad idea to bring a tarp and some sticks to make a temporary place to save and sleep, if needed.

Food and water are also essential if you’re taking your time with the cave.

It’s long, and if you’re fighting, then your character is going to grow both hungry and thirsty.

The night vision goggles aren’t too deep in the cave.

When you first enter the cave, you’ll need to dive into the water with your rebreather.

You’ll find a few oxygen tanks nearby if you’re low on oxygen.

Dive into the water and swim past the chained skeletons.

When you emerge, you’ll find a number of Puffies around.

You can either fight them or run straight ahead to the opposite side of the cave.

You’ll see a passage there with a slide going down.

Slip down the slide and end up crashing into more water.

It’s this larger space where you’ll find the night vision goggles.

It’s a big open area with some dead cultits lying around.

You’ll find a few supplies in crates here, too.

To find the night vision goggles, you’re going to need to head to a light shining on a wall.

You’ll see an odd diagram and a cultist laying against the stone wall.

On the cultist’s head is a pair of night vision goggles.

Pick them up, and they’re all yours.

How To Use the Night Vision Goggles in Sons of the Forest

You’ll find the night vision goggles in your inventory once you’ve picked them up.

Equip them, and your character will put them on his head.

Your vision will become green, but you’ll notice that you’ll be able to see into the dark a lot easier.

The goggles do require batteries to work, however.

Thankfully, they’ll automatically put a new battery into the goggles when it runs out.

As long as you have batteries in your inventory, the goggles will take care of themselves.
