To unlock the iron war axe recipe in Return to Moria, you’re going to need to repair some statues.

There are several broken statues throughout Westgate that require repair.

You need a hammer and some stone to fix them.

Each time you repair a statue, you have a chance for a recipe to drop.

It may not be the iron war axe, however, so you’re going to need to continue to repair statues until that recipe does drop.

You’ll also need to repair at least two statues.

The iron war axe comes in two fragments.

Once you’ve discovered both recipe fragments, you’re able to craft it.

Head to your forge once you have the recipe unlocked for the iron war axe.

To craft it, you’re going to need the following resources:

  • 2 Iron Ingots
  • 4 Wooden Scraps
  • 2 Hide Scraps

With those items, you can click the craft button, and the iron war axe will appear in your inventory.

The iron war axe is a great beginner weapon because it offers more damage than the sword.

It also has a power attack.

When you press and hold the left-mouse button, you can charge up your swing and spin in a circle.

This allows you to perform an attack that does a lot of damage while also hitting more than one enemy.

So, the iron war axe is worth having in your arsenal.
