Beheading Trap Recipe Location Sons of the Forest
You’re going to need to head to the new pickaxe cave to get your hands on this trap recipe.

The cave is on the eastern portion of the map and just off a river.

At the exit of the pickaxe cave, you’ll find a slope just behind you.
Run up the slope, and you’ll find two abandoned cabins.
Head inside the one on the right, and you’ll find the trap recipe on top of a table.
You’ll also find a golf cart battery in the cabin, and since the trap calls for one, it’s not a bad idea to pick it up.
How To Build the Chopping Trap in Sons of the Forest

Your trap is now ready for action.
Tips for Making the Chopping Trap Work Almost Too Well
The chopping trap does an amazing job of whirling and hacking away an enemy’s limbs.

But there are improvements you can make that will make it work even better.
It’s easy for enemies to run around the trap, and the trap can take a moment to realize an enemy is near, too.
Using another trap that briefly holds them in place near the chopping trap can be a great method of ensuring they’re right where they need to be when the trap goes off.
You might also want to consider using the trap in a narrow passage that you build.
You can funnel enemies through, and with nowhere else to go, they’ll have no choice but to face the trap’s powerful arms as they swing and chop through them.
It’s also worth considering making a line of these traps to ensure that the enemy can’t simply run around them.
With some proper set-up, this trap will protect your base and provide you with plenty of cannibal limbs in the process.
