One of the early resources that isn’t the easiest thing to get initially is elven wood in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
You’ll need a lot of it though since it’s helpful in producing ammo, crafting stations, and tools.
In this survival guide, we’ll show you where to get elven wood in Return to Moria.
And to see how to get to the Elven Quarter, be sure to watch the video below!
Where Is Elven Wood in Return to Moria
To get your hands on elven wood, you’re going to need to travel to the Elven Quarter.
The Elven Quarter is a section of the mines that the game leads you to after discovering that another possible exit is also blocked by the shadow curse.
You’ll have to dig to get access to the Elven Quarter, but once you do, you’ll find a beautiful area with elven architecture.

There are a number of trees in this area, but not every tree is harvestable.
You’re going to need to keep an eye out for dark trees that are a bit smaller than the ones with grey trunks.

The good news is that they tend to grow close together.
With your axe, you can chop them until they’re destroyed.
Once they’re cut down, you’ll get a number of elven wood and wood scraps from them.

Crafting the iron war axe is particularly good for harvesting elven wood.
Because it has a spinning attack when you hold down the attack button, you can potentially hit a few trees at the same time.
That allows you to chop them down faster and collect more elven wood at the same time.
You can also use the roaming bears around the Elven Quarter to knock the trees down for you.
As they roam around or fight, bears will knock down the trees and leave wood scraps and elven wood behind.
It’s a quick way to grab the wood without having to do anything yourself.
Just don’t get too close to the bear!
Once you pick up your first unit of elven wood, you’ll unlock a new crafting bench.

Stock up on it while you can since you’ll need a lot of it for new tools and items.
