The different weapons in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria have different strengths and weaknesses.

The spear is an ideal choice for mini-bosses or single targets, so using one can be beneficial in those situations.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to craft the Eregion speak, one of the best beginner spears in Return to Moria.

To see the speak for yourself, be sure to watch the video below!

Unlocking the Eregion spear is easy since it requires you to follow the main quest in Return to Moria.

At some point, you’ll need to make a steel pickaxe to travel deeper into the mines.

But to make that steel pickaxe, you need to repair the Great Forge of Narvi.

You can do so by replacing the broken parts of the forge with new parts and fighting off a horde.

When you repair the forge, you’ll unlock a number of new recipes.

One of those recipes is the Eregion spear.

You’ll need to craft the Eregion spear in the Great Forge of Narvi.

It requires the following resources:

  • 1 Bronze Ingot
  • 3 Elven Wood

You can make a bronze ingot by traveling deeper into the mines and smelting copper and tin ore together.

Elven wood you can gather by harvesting the trees around you.

Once you have all those items, bring them with you to the Great Forge of Narvi.

Craft the spear, and you’ll be able to start using it.

The Eregion spear is a Tier II piercing weapon.

It’s particularly good at delivering damage to one enemy instead of acting as an area-of-effect weapon.

When you hold the attack button, charging it, the spear releases a series of rapid thrusts that cause a good amount of damage.

To get the most of its charged attack, I recommend waiting until the enemy approaches you and charging up while you wait.

As soon as they’re in range, release the attack.

The spear also pairs well with the Shieldwall or another shield.

The Shieldwall, in particular, doesn’t take durability loss, so you can hide behind the shield and stab with the spear when the opportunity presents itself.

Because it’s great against single targets, I tend to use the Eregion spear against mini bosses and orcs after I’ve cleared out their goblin allies.

Make fighting a bit easier by crafting the Eregion spear.
