Durin’s Axe has been rendered into pieces, and if you want to use it, then you’re going to need to find all of its fragments.

One of its fragments happens to be in Orc-Town which is a challenging area to explore.

Where To Find the Durin’s Axe Fragment Quest Pick-Up

To get the quest pick-up for the second Durin’s Axe fragment, you’re going to need to open Loni’s chest.

You can find Loni’s chest deep in the mines past the Elven Quarter.

Head all the way to the bottom and look for a dwarven outpost.

Inside, you’ll find Loni’s chest.

Unlock it, and you’ll receive a letter that talks about the axe fragment.

You should have a Search Area appear on your map now.

Where To Find Durin’s Axe Fragment in Orc-Town

You’ll need to head to Orc-Town to find this fragment.

Dig through dirt as needed until you find a palisade wall and a bunch of orcs.

You have two options on handling the orc infestation–you can run or fight them.

I’d suggest fighting the orcs if you can.

Having a Masterwork shield that doesn’t break can be a lot of help here.

It’s also helpful to have a second tier weapon or something with reach like the Eregion Spear.

At the very least, it’s a good idea to kill the orcs at the front of orc-town and just inside the palisade walls.

Push deeper into the town and kill the orcs hiding in the halls, too.

Once you reach a large area with a massive orc, it’s time to decide whether to run or fight.

If fighting the orcs has been a struggle, then I suggest running for the axe fragment.

If you think you can handle the boss, then it’s time to fight.

Just keep in mind that he’ll be calling a horde of orcs and goblins to come fight you, too.

If you’re choosing to run, then go fast while he’s giving his monologue.

You’ll need to head to the opposite side of the room.

Look for a small ladder that climbs up to the platform where he’s standing.

You need to go fast before the horde starts knocking you off the ladder.

Get to the top, then head to the left.

You’ll see the glowing axe fragment on the edge of the platform.

Grab it, then run back the way you came and don’t stop.

You now have the second fragment of Durin’s Axe.
