With Update 14, the Cultist Cave in Sons of the Forest has had a complete makeover.

New items have been added, some have been removed, and others have switched locations.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you where you can find the items in the Cultist Cave in Sons of the Forest.

Cultist Cave – Rifle Location

Enter the cave on the southern most point on the map.

There are actually two entrances. One is a bit more north than the other.

You’ll know you’re in the right cavemouth if you find a sunken boat just inside the cave.

Head to the back of the cave where you’ll see a few planks leading up over some rocks.

You’ll find plenty of mutants in this cave, so make sure you have plenty of ammo and weapons or prepare to run through.

For the first few sections of the cave, you’ll want to follow the wall along to the right.

Pass through the first few sections until you eventually have to swim underwater.

You’ll need a rebreather to make it through some areas of the cave because they’re underwater.

When you surface, you might see a Fingers mutant.

Either way, there is a narrow stone bridge over some water that you should take.

It will lead to a ramp going upwards.

Inside this next area is the rifle.

It’s easy to miss, so watching the video linked above can help.

Otherwise, you’ll want to follow the slight path before you and eventually bank to the left.

With the wall to your left, move toward the back of the cave.

You should see a group of dead soldiers who are stuck to the wall.

The one you want is hanging from the ceiling and has the rifle in his hand.

Grab it, then turn around so the wall is to your right.

Follow the slight path down to some water and cross it to the other side.

You’re on the way to the golden armor now.

Cultist Cave – Golden Armor Location

The cave sections that follow are pretty straightforward.

Keep moving until you eventually come to a large body of water with a waterfall.

Wade through the water until you see a light shining on some dead cultists.

The light should be shining on a wall, too.

Make sure that wall is to your right, then move along it.

You’ll come across some structures lining the walls.

Head through there and watch out for the Twins and various Fingers loitering around the area.

You’ll move through some straightforward caves again.

The next big landmark is an area with what seems like lightning strikes hitting a spaceship.

You’ll know you’re in the right area if you see a bunch of dead cultists in space suits.

Travel around the spaceship until you see a boarded up section.

Break them, then walk inside the spaceship.

You’ll find a body sitting in the pilot’s seat and wearing the Golden Armor.

Take the armor, and the body will apart.

You now have the Golden Armor.

Since it reduces damage from Mutants, but not cannibals, it’s a good idea to equip it immediately.

Exit the spaceship when you’re ready and then start following the path upwards.

Cultist Cave – Mysterious Artifact Location

The last section of the cave is straightforward.

You’ll need to climb up and down a few parts as well as pass through more underwater caves.

There are a few sections that have boarded up walls, too, so you’ll need to use your axe to break through them.

To find the mysterious artifact, you’ll need to look for a cave that has some of the golden structures built into it.

There’s a section with a stone ramp that leads up to a structure.

Go up the ramp, and you’ll find the mysterious artifact sitting on the floor at the top.

Pick it up, then back down the ramp.

Cultist Cave – Multi-Trap Plan Location

The Multi-Trap is extremely easy to miss.

Go down the stone ramp that led to the artifact. Then keep the stone wall to your left.

Go around the small cliff until you see a boarded up wall.

Destroy the boards and walk inside.

You should see some skeletons, crosses, and a recipe resting on one of the stone pillars just inside.

It’s a small room, so finding the piece of paper is easy.

Once you have the paper, back out of the room.

You’ll want to head toward the golden structures that form a hallway above you.

Pass through the hall of golden squares and continue to follow the cave system until you reach the exit.

You’ll know you’ve arrived at the exit after you’ve swam and emerged to find a skeleton sitting in a chair.
