As you explore the Western Halls, you’ll eventually come across a page from a Ranger’s journal.

You’ll receive a quest to find other missing pages and complete the journal, but where are they and why should you find them?

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to find the Ranger journal pages in Return to Moria and what they’re used for.

To see for yourself what they unlock, be sure to watch the video below!

You’ll find journal pages first in the Western Halls.

These pages are in several different areas, and they randomly spawn, so your page locations won’t always be the same as someone else’s.

However, the journal pages do tend to spawn in similar areas.

You can sometimes find them in the abandoned buildings on the floor of the mines in the Western Halls.

It’s also possible to find them near broken statues or in the nooks of the various tunnels.

It’s also possible to find them in orc chests, so it’s worth destroying the totems and unlocking the chests to see if there are any inside.

I found a few pages in the orc chests close to the Ranger campsite, for example.

When you have at least five, it’s time to find the Ranger campsite.

Like the journal pages, the Ranger’s campsite can spawn anywhere in the Western Halls.

I’ve found a campsite in one of my savefiles in the lower section of the halls that are filled with orcs and goblins.

In another file, I found it on the same level as the dwarven outpost.

It takes a while to search, but your dwarf will make mention of finding a Ranger campsite when you discover it.

It’s a small outpost with a bed and simple camp heart that you can repair.

Sitting on a stool within the campsite is the journal.

In most cases, you should only need five Ranger journal pages to restore the journal.

So, keep a look out for them to repair it.

Once you have at least five Ranger journal pages, you can repair the journal.

The journal talks about looking for a great evil within Moria.

He was given the task by Elrond.

It’s signed by Thorongil, which is one of the many names that Aragorn went by to ensure that the armies of Rohan and Gondor didn’t recognize him.

So, you’re following in Aragorn’s footsteps when he explored Moria by the behest of Elrond.

Besides this bit of lore, the journal also unlocks two crafting recipes.

You get both the Alchemical Still and the Stamina Brew unlocked.

So, you can head to your base, build your new recipe, and enjoy a good brew courtesy of Aragorn, himself.
