If you’re busy harvesting ore in Return to Moria like me, then you probably run out of stamina a lot.
Every physical activity you perform ends up eating into your stamina and energy bar.
In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to brew Hopgoblet Lager in Return to Moria, a brew that can solve your stamina woes.
How To Unlock Hopgoblet Lager in Return to Moria

Before you can start brewing your new favorite drink, you’ll need to find its recipe.
The hopgoblet lager recipe unlocks after finding the Ranger journal pages in the Western Halls.
You’ll need to search high and low for these pages, but we do have a guide you can read here to help you find them.
The idea is to find the pages scattered throughout the mines, then discover the Ranger’s abandoned camp.
At the camp, you’ll find a journal that you can “rebuild” by finding the appropriate number of pages.
You’ll get a bit of lore along with some recipe unlocks.
One of them is the hopgoblin lager recipe.

Now that you have the recipe, it’s time to head back to your base.
You’ll need the brew kettle to make the hopgoblet lager.
Read this guide here if you haven’t unlocked or crafted the brew kettle just yet.
Inside the kettle, you should see the recipe for hopgoblet lager.
To make it, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 20 Khuzdul Oat
- 10 Aule Bloom
It’ll take 900 seconds to brew, which is faster than the Evening Ale recipe, but still takes a bit of time.
Since it takes a while, it’s worth taking care of other chores and errands in the meantime.
What Does Hopgoblet Lager Do in Return to Moria

You might wonder why you should go through the trouble of making hopgoblet lager.
If you’re tired of running out of stamina, then this is the brew for you.
It offers the following buffs:
- Increases max stamina
- Increases stamina regeneration time
- Offers random buff
Hopgoblet lager boosts your max stamina.
The yellow bar indicates your max stamina.
When you perform certain activities, the stamina runs out.
You won’t be able to run for a long time, perform many special fighting moves, or even mine without having to pause and recover your stamina when it’s low.
Hopgoblet lager boosts your stamina max, so you can do more without running out of stamina.
It also boosts your stamina regeneration.
Your stamina will replenish faster after drinking the lager.
That’s helpful for running around and fighting.
I tend to run from one place to the next often.
I’ll typically drink some lager to give me more stamina, so I can run longer.
The added bonus of having my stamina replenish faster also means I can cover more distance in a shorter amount of time.
Finally, hopgoblet lager offers the same bonus as Evening Ale.
You’ll receive the High Spirits buff.
This means that when you go to sleep, you’ll wake up with a random buff.
It might be a buff that favors hunting orcs or it might be something that eliminates stamina drain when mining.
Whatever it is, it’s a free buff that lasts for a long time.
So, make sure your hopgoblet lager and become a little bit more efficient.
