Sake is an important part of keeping your villagers happy in Sengoku Dynasty.
Because, let’s be honest here, hard-working villagers need to get their drink on when the work is over, right?
In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to make the brewery in Sengoku Dynasty, so your workers can start drinking sake.
How To Unlock the Brewery Blueprint – Become a Rice Farmer

- Required Quest: Of Rice and Men
- Quest Giver: Wakatsuru-nyo
- Quest Location: Aratani
Much like making a fine brew of sake, you’ll need some patience to unlock and build the brewery in Sengoku Dynasty.
First, you’ll need to prove your worth as a farmer.
Head to the farming town of Aratani, which rests near the southern portion of the map.
For being a farming town, they don’t have that many crop fields.
But these people are supposedly the experts, so you’ll need to find one of the councilwoman to talk to her about farming.
The one you need, in particular, is Wakatsuru-nyo.
She’s hanging outside her house near the northern entrance to the village.
She’ll tell you that her village is wary of refugees because they often take more than they give.
To get them on your side, you’re going to need to prove you’re a good farmer.
She helps you to get started by providing you with some rice and millet seeds.
She also unlocks the water and land fields, so you can plant your new seeds.
Head back to your town and start up your new fields.
You’ll need to collect 20 rice and 20 millet when they’re done growing to present to Wakatsuru-nyo.
It may take a day, or even a full season, for your fields to yield rice and millet, so it’s worth taking care of other matters while you wait.
Once you have what you need, however, head back to Aratani with your 20 rice and 20 millet and show it to her.
You’ll then learn that the farming village is facing a shortage of food due to theft.
You’re tasked with speaking a refugee named Ukome.
She’s a young woman living in the forest who sometimes asks for food.
One of the village’s residents scared her off and even slapped her because he suspects she’s the one stealing food.
Which is a bit harsh, if you ask me.
Find Ukome in the forest by her camp and speak with her to find out the truth.

She refutes the claims that she’s the thief and even shares some of her berries with you.
Convinced, you can return to the councilwoman who claims that she doesn’t have a lot of power over the rest of the village.
She needs something to help convince them that Ukome isn’t to blame.
That’s when your character hatches the plan to bribe them with food and sake.
She agrees and unlocks the blueprint for the brewery.
You’re now able to return to your village and start building the brewery.
How To Build the Brewery in Sengoku Dynasty

Building the brewery is exhausting.
It took me a full season to complete it, and it could have taken even longer if I didn’t choose to cut down some trees, myself.
While the brewery doesn’t have any rare resource requirements, it has a lot of resource requirements.
It’s a big building with the resource quantities to match.
Here’s the total amount of resources you’ll need for this building:
- 28 Logs (Any Type)
- 130 Planks (Any Type)
- 80 Sticks
- 36 Planks (Conifer)
- 63 Stones
- 12 Iron Ore
- 12 Straw
Let’s break the build down into its separate parts.
1. Foundation
The foundation is the seat of the brewery and is one of the easier parts to build.
The biggest hurdle you might face is finding room for it at all.
While Sengoku is lenient when it comes to building on slopes or uneven ground, it doesn’t like it when certain resources are in the way.
You may need to chop a few trees or remove some stones in order to put the blueprint down.
Because the building is long, it also doesn’t fit in every space.
It takes a bit of planning and experimentation to find the best spot for it.
Once you finally get the blueprint down, you can start building the foundation.
It takes 20 logs of any type to build it.
2. Floor
The second phase of the build is the floor.
This part of the build might make you cry.
When I saw how much the brewery needed for its floor, my jaw dropped.
You’ll need 50 planks of any type to complete the floor.
The good news is that you can use any plank to build it.
You’re even able to mismatch the types, which is what I had to do just to get enough planks for the floor.
It takes a bit of time to get all the planks needed and hammer them in, but that’s really only the initial part.
It gets even worse from there.
3. Exterior
Because of how large the brewery is, you can expect the exterior to require quite a bit of work.
To build the brewery in Sengoku Dynasty, you have a large number of walls that need resources.
The good news is that the front barely costs anything.
It has two open entrances that you can switch for traditional doors if you’d like, but since the building is already so resource-heavy, I’d suggest leaving it open.
There are also two doors on the front that require 3 Planks of any type as well as some sticks.
The rest of the walls require the following resources:
- 56 Sticks
- 36 Planks (Conifer)
This is where those conifer planks come into play, so make sure you have enough of those to go around.
You’ll also need a large number of sticks, so if you’re running low, it’d be a good time to pick some bushes to get them in large numbers.
You’re about half-way done with the build at this point, so you may need to push into the next season like I did to have your workers produce more resources.
Otherwise, chop some trees and get ready to build the roof.
4. Roof
The roof is the final part you need to build for the actual building, although there is one more building stage after this.
To build the roof, you’re going to need the following resources:
- 16 Stones
- 24 Sticks
- 32 Planks (Any Type)
- 8 Logs (Any Type)
You’ll notice that the roof also connects to some poles that run along the deck of the brewery.
The good news is that these additional support beams don’t require additional resources.
Once you’ve finished hammering in the resources for the roof, you’ll need to step inside the brewery for the final projects.
5. Furniture Workstations
The final part to build the brewery in Sengoku Dynasty is to complete the three furniture pieces in the building.
You have to build all three to consider the building finished.
That’s because all three furniture workstations work together to make sake.
The building phases look like this:
- Rice Cooker:
- 25 Stones
- 12 Iron Ore
- 15 Planks (Any Type)
- Fermentation Barrel:
- 10 Stone
- 15 Planks (Any Type)
- Filtration Press
- 12 Straw
- 12 Plank (Any Type)
Once you’ve finally built those three furniture workstations, your brewery will be ready for use.
How To Assign Workers to the Brewery in Sengoku Dynasty

Since there are three workstations in the brewery, you can expect there to be three jobs in the brewery, too.
You can assign workers to the Rice Cooker, Fermentation Barrel, and the Filtration Press.
As long as you have resources in the correct storage buildings, your workers will take those ingredients and turn into products.
All three workstations work together to create sake.
For example, the rice cooker will cook raw rice into cooked rice.
The fermentation barrel will take that, and other ingredients, to create fermented mixture.
Finally, the worker assigned to the filtration press will take the fermented mixture and turn it into sake.
You’ll need a beverage storage building to make this particular building work, since the villagers will need water.
They’ll pull that from the beverage storage building.
They’ll also need somewhere to store the sake they’re producing, which will also go into the beverage storage building.
So, make sure you build that before you start producing sake in the brewery.
Otherwise, you can assign your workers and have them start brewing some strong alcoholic drinks for your workers.
