How To Unlock Scour Pilsner in Return to Moria

Unfortunately, if you want a cure for poison, you’re going to have to go to its source.
The recipe for scour pilsner drops after picking up a poison mushroom.
You’ll need a few poison mushrooms to craft the brew, too, so it’s worth grabbing as many as you can before you inevitably die.
If possible, bring some dry rations with you to heal up after a bit of time spent among the poison mushrooms.
How To Brew Scour Pilsner in Return to Moria

You’ll need the brew kettle to make scour pilsner since it counts as a brew.
To brew it, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 16 Khuzdul Oat
- 13 Poison Mushroom
- 4 Sunken Moss
Khuzdul oat is the easiest ingredient on the list.
You’ll find it growing everywhere throughout the Mines of Moria and Lower Deeps.
Gather a bunch, however, as you’ll need 16 to craft the pilsner.
Poison mushroom and sunken moss are two of the tougher ingredients to gather.
Poison mushroom will kill you if exposed to them too long.
They grow in the Lower Deeps and tend to be where you don’t want them the most.
It’s possible to avoid their poisonous fumes by darting into the mushroom gathering, grabbing the mushroom, then rushing back out.
However, it can be difficult to get the timing right.
So, I suggest after making some scour pilsner that you gather poison mushrooms after drinking it and stocking up.
Sunken moss is also in the Lower Deeps.
You’ll find it growing in wet or moist areas.
It’s easy to gather, but you’ll need to brave the dangers of the Lower Deeps to find it.
Why You Should Brew Scour Pilsner

So, why is scour pilsner such a big deal?
Well, when combined with the brewskin, you can basically cure yourself of the poisoned status after it happens.
You can even drink it beforehand and prevent becoming poisoned in the first place.
That’s because scour pilsner cures poisoned and also makes you immune to poisoned for a period of time.
This is especially important when fighting against orcs and goblins in the Lower Deeps.
They all use poisoned weapons, so if they hit you a few times, you can expect to start losing health from poisoning.
Poison goes right through armor, so you’ll only have scour pilsner to stop your health from dropping.
Scour pilsner is my go-to brew when exploring the Lower Deeps.
