If you want to proceed through the mines of Moria, you’re going to need some better equipment.
One of the advanced equipment types you’ll need is the Shanor Hammer, and you’ll need to brush up on your singing to find it.
In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the Shanor Hammer in Return to Moria.
Where To Get the Shanor Hammer Recipe

You’ll need to travel along the Pilgrim’s Road in the Lower Deeps to discover the Library of Kibil-nala.
Because everything is randomly generated, it may take you some time before you discover the Library.
You’ll know you’re in the right place when you find a room full of Giant spiders.
These spiders spit poison, so make sure you have some Scour Pilsner in a Brewskin to cure yourself.
You’ll also want to destroy their eggs, so they don’t keep spawning back into the area.
Once you’ve cleared the area, look for two statues carrying lanterns.
There should be some dirt you can dig through between them.
Once you’re on the other side, you’ll find a large pillar in the middle of the room.
Head to the pillar, and you’ll discover that its covered in runes.
Your dwarf will want to sing at this point, so let them sing out a song about Durin.
During the process of singing, you’ll receive the recipe for the Shanor Hammer.
You’ll also get a new quest that prompts you to make the Shanor Hammer.
What Does Singing to the Library of Kibul-nala Do?

Singing at the Library of Kibil-nala provides more benefits than just unlocking the recipe for the Shanor Hammer.
It will also give you a massive, albeit temporary, buff.
You receive the Undaunted status effect, which means your health, stamina, and energy meters receive a boost.
It also cures Despair, so if you find yourself suffering from the effects of Despair, then this pillar can remove its negative consquences.
It’s also a great roleplay moment, so have some fun when you discover the Library of Kibil-nala in Return to Moria.
