Rebreather Cave Walkthrough

The Rebreather cave is in the same location as before the 1.0 update.

You’ll need to head to the north beach at the top of the map to find it.

You’ll know you’re in the right area if you see two guys impaled on some sticks at the northernmost part of the shore.

The cave is boarded up, so you’ll need to use your axe to chop through the wood and enter.

1. Entrance To Crossroads

When you first enter the cave, you’ll find a wide area with a number of resources in it.

Ammo spawns in the cave, so if you’re low on bullets, this is a great cave to visit to stock up.

More importantly, there are two main items to pick up here.

The first is GPS coordinates for the Entertainment Bunker.

You’ll find them in a laptop that’s sitting on a rock just inside the cave.

On the right side of the cave, you’ll find a piece of lore.

It’s a piece from the Sunset Times describing how PuffCorp has bought out another company for this island.

Continue down the path until you get to some water with life vests.

It’s at this point that enemies start to appear.

You’ll also come to a crossroads.

2. Crossroads Right To Right Path

Head down the right path first when you come to the crossroads.

It’s the path that is brightly lit by a light.

You’ll encounter some Fingers and a number of Puffies here.

Feel free to shoot or run past them.

Follow the tunnel until you come to another crossroads.

Take the right path first.

You may encounter a few more Puffies and Babies.

Defeat or run past them until you get to a dead end.

You should see a stun gun stuck to a sticky ceiling.

Grab it, then return to the crossroads you were just at.

3. Second Crossroads to Left Path

Head down the left path this time until you come to a rope leading down further.

Take the rope down and it will take you down to another tunnel.

This area loops around, so you can take whatever path you want.

If you want to save time, head left.

You’ll come across a Cross Trap first, then, at the end, an Artifact Piece.

Take both and head back up the rope to where you came.

Now, it’s time to head back to the original crossroad.

4. Crossroad Left To Dive

Take the left path, which should be on your right as you emerge from the tunnel.

This is a straight tunnel with no other branches, so you can run right down until you get to an area with a pool of water.

There are a few more resources for you to grab if you want.

More importantly, the rebreather is waiting on the edge of the water.

Grab it, but don’t jump into the water just yet.

5. Dive to Exit

There’s a shark in the pool of water.

It doesn’t take a lot to kill it, but I definitely recommend using ranged weapons if you have any.

It took one well-placed headshot with my bow to kill a shark instantly.

With the shark dead, equip the rebreather, then dive into the water.

Locate the entrance to the underwater tunnel and swim through.

It gets tight in a few areas, but keep following the path.

Eventually, you’ll be able to swim up to the surface.

Head to shore before anything else can nibble on you.

You’ve just survived the Rebreather cave!
