How To Unlock the Dawnbreak Pale Ale Recipe in Return to Moria

To get your hands on the Dawnbreak Pale Ale recipe, you need to head to Dwarrowdelf and repair the Ranger’s journal.

This particular journal is for the camp that spawns within the city of Dwarrowdelf.

Once you get past Balin’s tomb, you’ll enter the city of Dwarrowdelf.

There will be tunnels you can dig through to get to new areas.

The Ranger’s camp will spawn in one of those new areas.

We have a full guide here on how many pages you need and where to find them to fix the Ranger’s journal.

Once you’ve fixed the journal, the recipe for the Dawnbreak Pale Ale will drop.

Besides the upgrade, you’ll need the following crafting resources:

  • 6 Sunions
  • 8 Mountain Potatos

It will take 18 minutes to finish the brew, so you got some time to waste.

What Does the Dawnbreak Pale Ale Do in Return to Moria

After drinking the brew, you’ll get two status effects.

The first is common of all brews–High Spirits.

If you go to sleep while High Spirits is active, you’ll wake the next day with a random, positive, buff.

The more interesting status effect here is Bright Hope.

While the status effect is active, you’ll be able to travel the Shadow without undergoing Despair.

Even better, if you’re already in Despair, a quick drink of this brew will cure it.

This makes the brew a great thing to have around in case you encounter a room filled with shadow.

You can easily walk through the area without worrying about becoming despaired.

It’s also useful for surviving against enemies who deal shadow damage.

Take some along in a brewskin to make traveling through Moria that much safer.
