Much like the Red Eye Orcs, the Gundabad Warchief isn’t the worst enemy you’ll face.

That said, the multitude of orcs around him can make the fight more difficult.

In this survival guide, we’ll show you how to defeat the Gundabad Warchief in Return to Moria.

The Gundabad orcs start spawning in the Desolation section of Dwarrowdelf.

You’ll find their settlement at the bottom right of the map.

For those who made it to the outpost in the Desolation region, just head around the corner to your right, if you have the outpost at your back.

There’s a white road that leads to it, too, so just follow that, and you’ll find the stronghold.

Since the Warchief isn’t too terrible of a boss, it’s okay if you don’t have the best equipment.

That said, you’ll want to bring Tier IV weapons and armor to the fight to make it easy.

I wore Belegost armor and used a Khazad Maul with Shieldwall for the fight.

I also drank some Ironheart Stout to give me some damage resistance and used the Crystal Statue to get Hero-Spirit.

Between all that, and maybe a healing item, you’ll do fine in the battle.

Strategy for Defeating the Gundabad Warchief in Return to Moria

The best way to take down the Gundabad Warchief is to focus all your attacks on him.

Use your weapon and don’t let up.

Go as fast as you can.

He does have a slice and kick attack, so try to keep an eye out for it and block or dodge accordingly.

Otherwise, if you focus all your attacks on him, he’ll go down pretty quickly.

As soon as he does, his followers will run away.

Rewards for Defeating the Gundabad Boss in Return to Moria

The Warchief drops a few items like Black Diamonds, other gemstones, and Gundabad Slag.

He also drops sun-stone, which might be your first interaction with the new ore.

There are two chests in the arena, too, which holds items like Khazad steel ingots, meat, and gemstones.

Claim them all as your own!
